Hello Everyone,

I am opening this thread for all the December Online Citizenship applicants. I believe the processing times will differ between the online and the paper based groups. Therefore, it will be fruitful to have this separate thread for the online applicants.

Also, I have tried applying online; however, I am unable to successfully do so. I keep receiving a "Your application failed to submit" prompt when trying to submit my application. I wonder if anyone else here is facing a similar issue.

And if anyone successfully manages to submit their application, please do let us know.

Hi all, confirming - the system is already up and running and I submitted my citizenship application online today here https://citapply-citdemande.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/landing

Feel really fortunate since I got everything printed out and was about to mail it as paper based today but then learned about the online method last night (thanks to this forum!)

I DID NOT receive AOR right away. Below is the message I got in the end, if it helps:

You successfully submitted your application!

We’ll review your application to make sure you

  • provided all of the information we asked for
  • uploaded all required documents
  • paid the fees
If your application is complete, we’ll

  • start processing your application
  • send you a confirmation email (acknowledgement of receipt or AOR)
It can take some time before you receive the AOR. Check your email regularly to see if you’ve received it.

If we need more information from you, we’ll contact you by email. To avoid missing our emails

  • check your junk or spam folder
  • look for messages from email addresses ending in “@cic.gc.ca”
Check your email regularly.

You can

Prepare for your citizenship test

While waiting for your application, you can start studying for your citizenship test .

When to contact us

While we process your application, contact us if

wow you're a lucky one and may be the 1st one to apply online ;) I sent my package 2 days back which is still in transit and now they launched this, ugh!!!!! Good luck and please update if you get any further updates.

Did you not receive any error messages? That's crazy, I keep receiving one :(

I did not get any errors, worked first time. I'm also on Safari. Did you make sure all parts are complete and have green checkmarks? Not sure what to recommend, except signing out - signing in or if nothing helps starting application from scratch from a new account. I did register as a new client for this even though I had had an IRCC account

I did not get any errors, worked first time. I'm also on Safari. Did you make sure all parts are complete and have green checkmarks? I did it in one go and I also signed in, signed out. I know the tool just came out but I cannot for the life of me figure out why it isn't submitting. it is not just you,my friend called IRCC and their answer was to keep trying..it is common to have technical glitches when a new platform kicks in.
