You dont qualify for exemption. The exemption is only for immediate family members of Canadian citizens and PR holders as far as I know.

I was also under same impression that its for Canadian PR, but then visit ircc website, its written they will speed up visa process and provide exemption for immediate family members of Temporary residents as well.Due to this I mailed them on 21st Nov but still waiting for reply.I read on forum as well they are rejecting exemption for those whose also have pr application in process. So God knows what they will reply. But just want to know you received above mail from ircc exemption or directly in gc key??

that is true, apparently exemption letter is only for extended family member and immediate family member of temporary resident only. it is good that u already applied for exemption.
i m not sure how will that help for someone is also PR. they also want to fasten the process as well but pr or citizens cant even send the exemption request to fast the application. not sure how are they are giving priority?

Hi,

1. I applied for visit visa using the instructions in the below link:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/visitors/visa.html

Step 2: Fill out the form
When answering the question on the application form about the purpose of travel, enter the following information exactly as written to make sure your application is prioritized:

  • For question 1 a) purpose of travel, choose “other” from the drop-down menu.
  • For question 1 b) description field, write “COVID-19” exactly like this (you must use capital letters).

2. Submitted application for PHAC approval (mentioned UCI number)

3. Got a single entry visa in a week.
