A work permit (the physical paper) cannot be used for entry. You need a work VISA. There is a difference so please ensure you have valid visa to enter Canada and not a permit (piece of paper). @benson9189

Is Work Visa a new thing because of the covid 19 ? If not - then I don’t think I need that as I’m originally from a visa exempt country and I have never been asked and requested to apply for any VISAs the past 3 years when I was studying and working even for visiting in Canada. Everytime when I returned back to Canada, work permit was the only thing I showed to prove I was a temporary resident of Canada.
But I guess since we are permanent residents now , so I think we are able to enter the country with our CoPR along with some traveling documents right ?

Hi Guys,

I have few questions here, hope you all can help:
1. So we received an information letter stating that we are permanent residence now and asked to send our photos for card. It also mentions that if you don't have COPR attach this letter along. Now I'm wondering, how can we get our COPR document in that case?
2. How much time it takes to receive the card these days?
3. Before we received this PR, we were on work permit, so do we need to apply for ohip again? like fresh applicants?

1 - If you don't have COPR, no need to attach it. In my case I've added photos following the requirements and a copy of this letter. That was enough (I didn't have the COPR)
2 - It depends on a lot of factors, in my case it took a month, but on the official website it said it could take up to 113 days. But you don't need the card for anything else other than entering Canada. The letter should be enough for all services you need inside Canada.
3 - You don't need to reissue a new ohip. You may want to get a new SIN number that does not start with 9 and let your employer knows it. Also your bank.

If the thread already exist please post link.
Thanks
Hey I have the same situation. yesterday my file got approved with COPR message but not pdf. I got a mail in the morning from CIC etobicoke to show I am in canada and later in evening the file got approved. Did you just wait out for the email from etobicoke or you contacted them as well?
