I think 'ready to travel' is meant only for those with expired COPRs.
Assuming you're not in US, you are supposed to wait for IRCC to provide guidance on next steps, but if you are ready and have everything sorted out (travel plans, quarantine, etc.) I see no harm in letting them know that you're ready whenever they are.
Thank you ! I think I will send a 'Ready to Travel' webform in the first week of August if these restrictions are not lifted just to see if it helps in any way.

Hi everyone, just trying my luck. Is there anyone out there who's COPR is close to expiry but you have a potential job in Canada lined up? I definitely won't be able to meet the COPR deadline due to current employment commitments so will need to ask for an extension but don't expect the company in Canada wait 3 months for a COPR extension.... Has there been any instances of an expedited extension approval if we submit a letter of employment?
Just a comment but getting an extension due to being unable or not wanting to travel due to COVID is completely different to not wanting to travel due to work committments. Unlikely you would get an extension for the latter reason. Nothing to stop you trying your luck of course

Hello everyone,

My question might be completely off topic apologies for the same. I am not sure which is my VO. It is mentioned as CIO/BRCD (IRCC) in my ready for visa mail dt 10th feb 2020. Primary office: Centralized Intake Office. Is this Ottawa? Im not sure, this is what some of my other friends told me that my VO would be Ottawa. My date of expiry for Visa was 10th June 2020. had raised a webform stating cannot travel in June. I had received my Visa before 18th March 2020. After raising the webform for not ready to travel in June 2020., in July first week when i logged in to check my EE profile just randomly, it was shown as in progress from the previously approved status-obviously as i raised webform for cannot travel, but with one update stating you passed medicals on 8th July 2020. Received no email for this. This has been the update since in my EE profile. Hence i wanted to know which is my VO as i am thinking of resigning from my job now and raising ready to travel. Also is this a good idea to raise ready to travel? anyone else doing the same? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. Would really appreciate if someone could guide me in determining my VO. Apologies for off the topic questions. And thank you in advance again.
Whether or not to raise 'ready to travel' webform depends on your readiness, situation in your country and your plans, so no comments there from my side.
But as far as your VO related query goes, you may find parts of this old post helpful: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/august-2019-aor-join-here.646152/

Thanks Bs65. My understanding was that unwilling to travel is considered a good enough reason to apply for an extension by IRCC.... so i would say that I was unwilling and unable to travel. My question is more about when we ask for an extension, has anyone had an instance of a confirmed employment resulting in some acceleration for processing?

Hi all,

We are traveling to Toronto in a week so from US, 3 days before CoPR expiry.

We have funds (more than 10k CAD) available in US bank accounts and will be using travel credit card with no foreign transaction fees during stay in Canada. So won't be carrying any cash or travelers check.

My question is, what should be the answer to,
1. How much money are you carrying?
2. How much money are you bringing into Canada?

I think, it has to be equal to the amount in proof of funds?!

Any idea if the head office in Canada would issue these or do we still need to wait for local offices to open?
As per my read, its letter with instructions for CoPR extension and not the travel permit. It should be sent by local VOs which had processed your application.

OK. Thank you. Appreciate it. But i was not able to figure out the answer for my VO from the mentioned thread. :(
Sorry, my bad! Should have called it out: linked post doesn't tell how to find your LVO (short of a GCMS query). It just helps one understand the relative importance of an LVO vs. central offices, assuming you mean LVO when you say VO. Your question still stands.

If that's the case, sadly, it doesn't really help those with expired COPR's much. We'll still have to wait endlessly for Local VO's to open.

Hi,
I have sent "ready to travel" form and received the email below. Interested if anyone prepared a response to this: what supporting documents did you provide and did you get the copr extension after this?

===================================================================================================
Dear IRCC client:

This email is destined to clients who have written to us to let us know that they are ready to travel to Canada. Thank you for your patience while we have been adjusting the way we work during the pandemic.

According to our records, you have indicated that you are now ready to travel to settle and live in Canada as a permanent resident. Currently, only CoPR holders whose travel to Canada is considered essential are able to enter Canada. In addition, some public health measures are in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Canada.

Accordingly, we ask that you confirm that you are able to fulfill the requirements described below. In order for IRCC to determine if you can indeed travel to Canada, you must provide the following:

1. Your plans to live and settle in Canada upon arrival
· documents to support your living situation in Canada (i.e. address, lease agreement, home ownership document)
· employment plans in Canada, (i.e. location of work, letter from employer)
· any other relevant information.

2. How you plan to quarantine for 14 days when you arrive in Canada, including how you will have access to groceries, get medical care, and other essential services. While in quarantine, you will not be able to leave your place of quarantine for any reason. This is mandatory even if you have no COVID-19 symptoms.
· proof of funds (i.e, bank and/or credit card statements)

3. your proposed or confirmed travel itinerary
· a description of your proposed or confirmed travel itinerary, including travel tickets if you have already purchased them

Please provide the above information to IRCC by replying to this email. We will evaluate your request upon receipt and let you know whether or not you are approved to travel to Canada at this time.

Please note that only approved permanent residents now able to live and settle in Canada will be allowed into the country at this time due to the ongoing travel restrictions. Travel for temporary stay for reasons such as tourism, entertainment or simply to finalize applications without staying in the country is not allowed and will not be permitted.

Thank you,
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

POF and specify your plans for employment plans in Canada. If you have resigned from your job or if you have job offer in Canada. Just mention that with supporting document. You can share your proposed employment plans too in case if you are gonna search for job in Canada. Best of luck.

Hi guys

need your opinion on the following situation. I am a foreigner working in China (landed from Singapore in Feb) with COPR expiring first week of September. My common-law partner included in COPR and now working in Singapore (she planned to join me in Feb, but first Sg get closed, then - China and we cannot reunite ever since, China still closed for foreigners).

As soft landing is not permitted, we are considering to ask for extension. Guess it is the only lawful option now - we are not ready to settle in Canada permanently.

We get our COPRs in Singapore VO. Now I am in China, she is in Singapore.

(1) Do I need to update my contact details in GCkey? If yes, do I provide my China contact (I am the main applicant) or her contacts in Singapore?

(2) What is also unclear, once extended, do we ship our passports to different VO or to the VO of main applicant? In my case it will be HK as all the applicant in China bound to HK VO.

Thanks in advance!
