Feelings aren't a factor in IRCC's decisions; their job is to deliver a safe and effective system that meets Canada's economic and public health needs. Immigration is a privilege, not a right. Although you can argue candidates invited now wouldn't be landing for several months, we don't know what the situation will be like then either.

The virus is currently surging in places where tons of applicants live (the US, India, etc.) while Canada has flattened the curve by keeping its borders tightly guarded. Australia and NZ are among the few developed countries to have done even better in this regard, and as you note they're not welcoming many new people.

You're free to hope for an FSW draw on the 9th, but don't count on one. Personally, I would like to see a special draw for inland FSW candidates, who are the biggest losers of the CEC-only trend.
Great. If that's the case then why Canada has recently announced that they will process Student Visas, TRV, Spousal Visas, Tourist Visa, and others?
As per logic, students too must have not been permitted to travel but IRCC is now fast-tracking student visas (from India, Philippines, Pakistan, and other similar countries).

Read the below link and this is really a huge confidence boost
https://www.cicnews.com/2020/06/canada-resumes-visitor-visa-and-eta-processing-july-1-0614903.html#gs.9h5bmf

After 4 months' time, something refreshing like the above is really boosting the confidence of many. Plus, as per the recent interview of the immigration minister, he quoted that while the US denies entry, Canada will work on welcoming SKILLED WORKERS from OVERSEAS. Recent Trudeau's interview too (about the situation in Hong Kong) highlights that they will work on welcoming people from many pathways such as EE.

Although I cannot completely rely on this and jump into any conclusion, I feel that all these points to an FSW draw on July 8 or July 22.

Also, if they do not wanna welcome people until WES/IELTS resumes, then they do not have to invite CECs but rather just extend their work permit applications. Anyway, let us see what's down the line (in 3 days exactly from now)

IRCC is processing some applications; that doesn't mean anyone is going to be allowed to travel to Canada anytime soon or that they want to add more people to the backlog.

CIC News is a good source but it is of course unofficial, and run by the same firm that owns this forum. As has been said, they're at least partly interested in drumming up interest in Canadian immigration so they can gain more clients.

And please also see previous posts on why you shouldn't take an offhand comment by Trudeau or Mendicino as a sign of any concrete policy decision. Even when they talk about immigration, they're just as often speaking to a domestic political audience, and not you.

Do not say that mate. Years of hard work might go down the drain. I'm still hopeful looking at this

Many here have already lost on age, IELTS, money, and others. IRCC does not owe anything to us but at least those guys can show some sympathy and at least inform us of their plan or stand on FSW draw.

My cousin has informed that some CEC candidates are getting fake work exp certificates in full swing to ensure that they are not missing out on anything
There is a set amount and an illegal agency as well that can give work exp certificate, pay slip, tax form and other docs at a standard cost from a sub-standard company. They will eventually get ITAs and eventually get PR.

IRCC is very very well aware of all these fake documentation and certificates but still, they wanna safeguard CECs as a whole.
They should also understand (possibly they would have) that issuing an ITA does not bring anyone to Canada right away but might take months of processing.

They should also realize that there are FSW inland ppl that are losing their statuses simultaneously and at least for that IRCC can reveal their plan for FSW or give an approximate time frame to the best.
Anyway, their country their wish. God save FSWs if an all program draw does not happen this July.
I will be honest after having lived in Canada most of the people immigrating with fake work exp or degrees and certificates are through the FSW program.

My friend told me his experience when he was trying to get his brother to come to Canada. He met with who informed him his brothers score was too low ( though he has a good IELTS score). The consultant asked for $20,000 for a fake degree to boost his CRS score. My friend did not pursue this because it’s an insane amount for potential mis rep.

Canadian experience and credentials on the other hand are far tougher to fake. There is a lot more paperwork and there is an abundance of indicators if it is fake.

To my previous point about politicians like Mendicino speaking to domestic audiences, in that clip he was responding to a question about Trump's H-1B freeze; any Liberal MP in that situation would answer with similar generalities about Canada's more welcoming attitude because part of their political brand is drawing contrasts with Trump. Most Canadians understandably hate Trump, so it's a cheap populist tactic, not a secret sign there will be an FSW draw on any particular date.

Okay, here is the recent tweet from IRCC that states that they will now start to process Visitor, Student, Spousal and PR applications

Sure, i don't believe in putting credence in platitudes either, but we've already seen how the EU is reintroducing non-essential travel from certain countries, by stipulating they need to take a a covid test a few days before their departure.

I don't see why a similar procedure could not be introduced for outland applicants.

Of course, it's obvious that the Canadian government's priority is safeguarding the health of its people, but even then citizens and PRs are allowed to enter and leave, and from what i know, covid doesn't discriminate between what your immigration status is when it infects people.

IRCC can also implement a system barring people from countries where there are high covid numbers from draws.

I don't see the exclusion of FSW candidates as an issue to do with health risks, i think it has more to do with the international apparatus of VOs is not currently working at a capacity that it can process these applications yet.

Facing reality is one concept that seems to be an extremely hard concept to grasp for these hopefuls. #2022
Can you read the below. It is no longer 2022. Canada is processing Visitor visas, Student and work permit now.
My friend too got his work permit approved recently. Do not irritate others with your demotivating posts. What else you need more than this

I don't get this argument. Seriously.

Why would Canada prefer less qualified people (CECs in theirs 420's) than extremely high skilled FSW candidates above 500 simply because "they are from India, USA"?
It doesn't make any sense. Simply test these people as they enter the country, on the airport itself, and make sure they'll quarantine for 14 days. It's not that hard, at all. By applying these 2 policies, the chances of spreading the virus in the country are virtually zero.

It's little more complex than that, In my opinion the reason IRCC is not doing any FSW draws is because of high unemployment rates. I know that people who get ITA's now won't arrive for at least 6 months, but at the same time it is very hard to predict future unemployment rates/economic condition of Canada. Once the government is confident about future and economy is stable, they'll resume FSW draws.

They are still doing PNP/CEC draws because majority of candidates are already a part of labour market and they've been paying taxes. If any CEC candidate who's working in Canada lost their job it'll be counted in towards unemployment rate irrespective their status in Canada.
