Thank you so much @cansha for your quick response.

Thank you!

So this is really a problem as the duties listed are actually my work duties. I am currently going through the NOC list to see if another NOC closely match my duties. Here is my question, do you think it is advisable/good to petition to change NOC if I find another that better match my duties? I don't think I can submit another reference letter and change the duties because the same duties were listed in my offer letter which i also submitted.

Won't resubmitting fresh gift deed raise questions? or I can just say I noticed from my GCMS note and resubmit, do you have a sample that I can follow for reference?

Once again, thank you!

Hi! I'm in the same boat as you: my job duties don't match my declared NOC and the file is sitting at the Montreal office. Let me know what you end up doing.

You can try that but there is no certainty whether they will consider such request.

Yes you can say you saw concern in GCMS notes and hence submitting a new one. You mean sample for gift deed? I don't have one but if you search on forum there are a lot of samples available.

I submitted an LOE explaining and requesting for NOC change. I map my duties to the duties in the new NOC. I don't know why I didn't do that earlier before submitting my application in the first place. :( I read on some other threads that it is possible to change NOC post AOR. I've submitted and now fingers crossed.

Alright thanks, I will make another deed gift and send via webform.

I also had a review required because of the same reasons: NOC code not matching job duties. My reference letter was exactly as per the required format but the job duties were not very descriptive, too general. I asked around and came to the conclusion that perhaps my NOC code was not exactly matching. I had then sent an LOE saying "I noticed the review required on my GCMS notes and that I had discussed with a consultant [who had actually given me the advice free of charge] and I would like to change my NOC code on his counsel", I submitted alongside it a more detailed reference letter which was transferred to the immigration agent within a few days!

However, as Cansha suggested, it may not be taken into account. In my case, all was approved in January and in the immigration officer notes' I noticed he only mentioned the original NOC code. I am not sure if the paperwork I proactively sent was truly considered but I believe you have nothing to lose! As long as you carefully think it through.

I completed my 6 months duration on 24th June so decided to raise a web form for which I got a reply today.
  • The responsible office is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is in process.
  • Your application is currently being processed at the Local immigration office in Montreal, Quebec.
  • The medical examination results on file are valid for you.
I got the same reply to the web form raised in March and May. There has been no progress on my application in the last 4-5 months, no ghost updates too. This is really frustrating.

Thanks for your response! I'm glad to hear it worked out for you. I will keep everyone posted on my progress... I hope the waiting isn't going to be too long.

My stream is FSW Inland.
Same as you. I waited for my PPR for 9 months as an FSW inland applicant, from Sep 16, 2019 to Jun 16, 2020. Before 8 months and 3 weeks my status was exactly the same as yours: eligibility under review, criminality in progress, security not started.
I suggest that you order notes to see what's going on, and if you need proactively submit some additional documents.
My personal experience is: I proactively submitted additional documents in the 8.5 months, and my eligibility and criminality both passed a week after.
Best luck!

Guys,

Has anyone else got such email from IRCC? Planning to take, if received?

I got an IRCC email saying my email id has been chosen for a voluntary covid survey,
Subject Line: "REMINDER: Immigration to Canada: how has COVID-19 impacted you? "

Email says, survey would ask questions about if and how Covid has impacted your life. The Link on IRCC website:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/survey-client-covid19-2020.html

A snippet from Link:
"Ottawa, Friday, June 12, 2020—Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited some clients to answer a survey to understand how COVID-19 is potentially impacting plans to come to, return to, or stay in Canada.

About the survey
By collecting these survey responses, IRCC will better understand how our clients are experiencing COVID-19 and the volumes of applications or arrivals to Canada that IRCC can expect in the near future.

Completing the survey is voluntary. Your participation will be kept confidential. What you tell us won’t affect any past, current, or future application with IRCC."
