Hello everyone. I have landed successfully yesterday morning at Toronto airport. They have not done any screening at the airport. Everything was fine so you don't need to worry. Just a few questioning during immigration( maybe because i have already filled all the details at ArriveCan app). They don't even ask me about my quarantine plan( but they were asking others). Hi, has anyone here used the ArriveCan app? I have a few questions regarding the app:
1) is it necessary or optional to use the app?
2) will the app work without mobile data at POE?
3) The app asks to input flight details. Should we enter the first flight that brings us to POE, or connecting flight to final destination where we will be self isolating?

Hello everyone!
I've been following this forum for a few months now and just wanted to share my situation.
I received my COPR a couple of days before March 18th, but with the pandemic going on I had a really difficult time getting everything ready to move; selling my house, personal things etc. Sadly I was only given 3 months to move, I don't think that's enough time, but I was trying to make it work. I finally sold my house, but with the Covid-19 cases increasing in the States, I decided to not travel and send a webform, I received a genetic reply like everyone else. My COPR expires tomorrow, June 17th, and to be honest I have no idea when I will be able to travel since I live in the South and was planning on driving, I'm a bit concerned with all the stops I will have to make to make it to Canada, it would take me around 2 days to get there. Cases in the South continue to increase and I just don't feel comfortable travelling right now, also the 14 days quarantine mandate will be pretty difficult for me, since I don't know anyone in Canada. I am really hoping to receive at least a 6 months extension, but will see how things go. With the US government not really taking this seriously I would not be surprised if Canada decides to continue limiting travel from the US. We'll see how things go.

So one of my neighbour has tested positive today for covid-19. The health officials have sealed off my whole apartment building. I will be under house arrest for next 14 days.

On March 20, 2020, the Government of Canada provided updates on exemptions to travel restrictions in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of Canadians.

Find out if the travel restrictions apply to you:

• If your PR application was approved before or on March 18, 2020, you are allowed to travel to Canada. Please read about the public health measures below. If circumstances allow, we encourage you to continue to make plans to land in Canada in 2020.
• If your PR application was approved after March 18, 2020, you should not make any plans to travel to Canada until travel restrictions are lifted. You will not be allowed into Canada at this time.
• Use the issuance date on your CoPR to determine if you were approved before, on, or after March 18, 2020. If possible, we encourage you and your accompanying family members to arrive in Canada at the same time.

Public health measures you must follow if you plan to travel to Canada soon:

• If you travel by air, you will need to pass a health check before you are allowed to board your flight. Travellers who show symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed to travel to Canada. If you know you are sick, delay your travel plans until you are feeling well.
• Whether you travel to Canada by land or by air, a border services officer will assess your health once you arrive in Canada.
• Once in Canada, you must quarantine for 14 days, even if you have no symptoms. This is mandatory for all travellers. There are significant penalties for anyone who does not follow this order. Please see New Order Makes Self-Isolation Mandatory for Individuals Entering Canada.
• You must have a plan for how you will quarantine for 14 days when you get to Canada and how you will have access to groceries, get medical care, and other essential services. You will be asked to show your plan to border officials. While in quarantine, you will not be able to leave your place of quarantine for any reason. If you do not have a plan for quarantine do not travel until you have made one.

If your CoPR expires before you are able to travel to Canada:

• If you have not already done so, please contact us using the webform to let us know if you are not able to travel to Canada before your document expires. If you have already done this, we have the information and you don’t need to submit another.
• You may not get an immediate response to your enquiry indicating the next steps, but we are reviewing all enquiries. IRCC is working hard to determine the next steps for clients in this situation. We’re not sure yet when updates or instructions on this will become available, but we will make sure that they are communicated as soon as next steps are decided on.
• Please also continue to regularly check on our COVID-19 webpage for updates.

If issuance date on CoPR is after March 18, 2020 then applicant is not eligible for exemption.

I am FSW Outland applicant. Inland applicants directly receive PR through email. A month before expiry, I raised a web form for inability to travel. Received a reply two weeks later and another one a week after that. Both were different in context but seemed generic. As per latest reply, I have to let them know through web form whenever I am able to travel and then I will be notified regarding further steps.

In other forums I read, they are saying extension of CoPR also calls for criminality + security + medical re-do, since you application will be re-opened again for re-new. Did you hear any of that, does IRCC response in Web Form says anything about it?

I did not hear anything regarding other factors in response from IRCC.

Sure @wick_sran. If you can share, what does your CIC profile shows now - approved OR in progress? What happened to the counterfoil - they would have gotten away by any chance?

This is an old news, that was released on May 19th. The current travel restrictions are valid through June 21st and there's no update on whether the restrictions will be extended or not, please read and check before posting anything on the forum to avoid confusion and misconception. Thanks!.

Hi all
Thought I'd share my landing experience here in case it helps anyone with their queries. I was a temporary resident in Melbourne, Australia and traveled from there to Montreal with Qatar Airways transiting via Doha roughly 10 days ago. Had a separate booking with Air Canada for Montreal to Vancouver with three hours layover in Montreal. Had no issues getting on board in Melbourne and Doha and landed in Montreal alright. The immigration/landing process at the Montreal airport was slower than I expected and for some reason, people landing with COPRs were called after everyone else. That gave me a massive scare as I had a connecting flight. I told the same to the admin officer there but he didn't allow me to jump ahead and asked me to wait. The immigration officer was quite alright and asked for the basic details without demanding any proofs and I spent roughly 5 min at the counter. After that, I collected my checked-in bags (two of the last ones on the belt) and ran to the Air Canada check-in counter. With Air Canada, you can opt for the lowest fare when you book and pay for the baggage on the airport at a decent rate ($90 CAD for two bags 23kg - It's the same if you book when doing a web check-in). Had no issues at Vancouver airport as I collected my bags and walked straight out without even needing to interact with anyone as I was arriving on a domestic flight. Free wifi at all three airports helped a lot. Booked an Uber to my Airbnb and am now waiting for the self-isolation to end so that I can get on with the process of opening a bank account, getting a SIN (needs address proof to apply online) and looking for new place to stay. Also, for those arriving in Vancouver (only), there's a decent Indian food meal delivery service (https://www.yogiskitchen.ca/) that'll get you through the isolation period and if you wish to opt for it, let me know as I can get you a referral discount when you sign up.
No thermal screening for the Qatar Airways flights for me but there was a temperature check before boarding Air Canada flight. I had explored a scenario where if I miss my connecting flight, would I be able to stay overnight in Montreal? The answer that I got before my travel from an officer at Public Health Agency Canada was that yes I can, but I might have to book a room in a hotel (I don't think that would have been the case though as things were quite normal at the airport with travelers everywhere around the gates). Fortunately, that didn't occur but I wrote it here as it might assure people who might want to transit through Montreal but are afraid to do so.

I don't understand why somebody is so sure that we will not have to redo our medicals. Some of us will have to do that! Please, don't be mislead with a false feeling of peace and be prepared to retake medicals.
I have just been requested to go through medical examinations. I wrote directly yo my VO (Warsaw) and informed them that I am ready to travel. They answered within 4 hours (! can you imagine that?). They reopened my file and now it is showing In progress.
How can I post a picture here? The "Insert Image" function requires some URL.
Anyways, I don't complain, I am ready to do medicals and whatever they require me to do as long as it allows me arrive to Canada by September.
FYI: Visa and med expired in April.
