No we sent to Ottawa office as my parents are currently here in Canada and in no rush to leave.
Did you submit a visa extension request for your parent?
As per the website, your parent will assume implied status until the decision is made for the visa extension request. I am sure by then they should have got their passports back :)

Hi Guys,
I was successful in the PGP sponsorhip of 2019. I am sponsoring mum and dad who are in Nigeria.
January 28, 2019: Received interest to sponsor confirmation.
April 25, 2019: Received parents and grandparents invitation.
June 17, 2019: Mailed completed application.
Sept 30, 2019: Application accepted for intake cap 2019
December 13, 2019: Request for biometrics received.
December 20, 2019: Biometrics done.
December 20, 2019: Application forwarded for further processing to Accra, Ghana.
Do you guys have any idea when medicals will be requested and how long more will it take to complete the process giving the timetable above.

I suggest you to consult the tracking sheet to get an estimate regarding the timeline,
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AqTuXZrYG6sg4UHpHBEaMbWTgbHtvxzWYedaojGh0bg/edit#gid=945174368

However, keep in mind that each case is unique and you should consider the timeline as somewhat an "educated" guess.

Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding Police Certificates. Are you translating them into English/French before sending them or just sending the scanned copy by email.

Hi there, my parents are separated not legally. My mother is applying for a PR, and is required to do an medical exam. But CIC required my father to do the same. We did not apply for my father a PR since he suffered stroke a couple of years ago. What should we do?

Hello everyone,

All documents not in English or French require translation and you have to send both original as well as translation, this is general rule.

Your father is considered as your mother's dependent since they are not LEGALLY separated or divorced.
He has to get his medical done whether he plans to accompany your mother or not.

You have the following options:
- Get his medical done along with your mother
- Apply to be legally separated/divorced and submit relevant supporting documents to CIC to exclude him from your mother PR application. Keep in mind this will delay the application process.

we had a same situation my father is in Philippines too. What I did and you should do also follow the step 4 states that if you do not have mailing address in Canada because your mom is in India, you have to send a webform.. It will take a while but unfortunately you have to wait.
Thank you, have sent a webform request. Will update when I hear back.

Are they actually separated? If they suddenly apply for a divorce now I would expect to have to prove that they have been living separately for some time and this is not a separation in order to get over the fact that your father may not pass the medical.
