Hi! For the "Generic Application form for Canada" Under personal details, number 10: Current country of residence. Since my wife is living with me now and working on her PR status. Current country of residence should be Canada right? and for the from and to dates as well, Should I leave the 'to date' blank since she is staying for good? Thanks!

Another concern. My last name in my passport (PH) and other documents like my Drivers License are "ABCD EFGH" but my PR ID card's last name is "AB CD EFGH" what should I put in the forms when applying for my wife's sponsorship? I'm confused if one simple space between two syllables will wreck the whole application. Need some thoughts. Thanks!

Her country of residence should be Canada. For the dates, I put the present date when I was filling the form in the “to date” field. It’s not recommended that you leave any space blank

Hello everyone,

Hope you're all having a great day! I've been following this forum for a while now. I'm in the process of submitting inland sponsorship for my US Citizen husband. He came here about 5 days ago, I would like to know if I need to provide biometrics for his PR spousal sponsorship application. Since he is a US Citizen, he does not need visa to visit canada. He can visit here and stay up to 6 months. I'm wondering if anyone else has applied for US Citizen, is the process any different? Do I need to provide biometrics or medical with the application? I'm in Toronto and planning to submit the OWP application with the spousal application.

Thank you for your guidance!

Hi,

Any requests for Biometrics and medical is sent out by cic after the file submission. Usually, anywhere from 3-6 months is when they request these, only if required by them. These two are not required upfront. Follow the checklist for spousal sponsorship, as that applies to all applicants, doesn’t matter what citizenship the spouse holds. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone,

Last week someone called from migration office that I need to resubmit one of the forms by email. I sent the form again to them on the same day. Today, I just checked my status online, I noticed they added a line before my medical request line on Aug 14th. This line says "We started processing your application on October 31, 2019". I should also say that my husband sponsorship has been approved on the same day (Oct 31th)
Do you know what does it mean? Do you think that they sent my application all the way back to be evaluated with the people sending their applications on Oct?

Thanks alot for your help in advance!

what s the form and what is the reason ? If it’s incomplete then they won’t call but return the whole package.
But based on the update it looks like urs will be considered from October. Will see if someone in group respond with similar experience.

The office is processing your PR application on the PA side, you should get AIP soon if everything looks good.
