My application is through Express Entry.
Processing of a complete and straightforward application through Express Entry takes roughly around 6 months, for 80% of cases. But each case is different, and nobody can predict when you will get PPR, as one can easily fall in that remaining 20% bracket. So You can expect by Early January next year.

Canada’s primary immigration avenues are:
  • Family Class Sponsorship.
  • Federal Economic Class.
  • Provincial Economic Class.
  • Quebec Immigration.
  • Temporary Residence First, Then Transition to Permanent.
  • Business Immigration.

I think Family Class Sponsorship or Federal Economic Class is best suited for you.

For further and detailed info visit the official IRCC website here.

Thanks for the explanatory post.
I scored 438 by CRS. I belong to 3112 job code, CBL 8, but age is 40 years. What would be my odds of selecting by Express entry? Can anyone response please?

I worked as a locum Doctor (part time) for about 32 hours a week, then after about 6 weeks I got a full time job where I work for about 48 hours a week. Please can I combine both my full time and part time hours to make up one year work experience, bearing in mind that the combination of both full time and part time add up to one year i.e 12 months

Hi everyone, I just got an immediate reject for express entry (in a few hours after sending the application), although I know I have minimum requirements to apply. I used the CRS calculator and got a score of 455, not sure what I did wrong in the application process. Hope someone can check my profile and give me a quick feedback and perhaps let me know of any pitfalls while applying. thanks.

Primary applicant:
Age: 33
Education - Master's
Work experience - 6+ years across London, Sgp and US
Current job - Less than 2 months old, took a break after 6 years of work exp to pursue higher degree

IELTS: L- 8.5; R- 9.0; S- 8.0; W- 7.0

No relatives or friends living in Canada; No canadian experience
Past experience: NOC code - 1112 (Investment analyst for 6 years)
Current job: NOC code - 1122 (Management consultant for 3 months - current job)
Intention to work: NOC code - 1122 (Management consultant) - I have put this as the sector I want to work in.

Dependant applicant
Age: 32
Education - Master's
Work experience - 4+ years across India, London, Sgp and US
Current job - Not working

IELTS: L- 5.5; R- 6.0; S- 7.5; W- 7.0

No relatives or friends living in Canada; No canadian experience
Past experience: NOC code - 4214 (teaching assistant for 3 months)
NOC code - 1223 (Human resources and recruitment officer for 4+ years)

Funds: I have put $30,000 as funds I plan to bring to Canada. We are a family of 3 including a 3-yr old.

Could someone please let me know where I did wrong? Would be of great help if someone can DM me and help me with a one-to-one brief chat.

Many thanks!

You need to have at least one year experience in your primary NOC and it seems you made the NOC primary where your experience is just few months. Your primary NOC in application doesn't restrict you to work in that NOC once you're PR. So just put the NOC where you have the maximum experience and can get the job reference letters.

NOC for dependent are irrelevant unless they have work experience in Canada.
