Hi! I applied for my parents visa on August 11, 2019. Online application.
Biometrics were successfully completed on August 21st.
Still haven’t received any update about eligibility or background check processing.
I’m expecting my first child so I’ve also attached a note from the doctor and I have PR.
any idea how long it can take?

Sadly, the answer is "as long as it takes." from what country and for what citizenship was it submitted?

It was a visit visa application. Applied from Pakistan.
When the visa was applied it said the processing time is 35 days. Now it says visit visa processing time from Pakistan is 65 days.

Application date was 11th August and I still haven’t heard from them. It’s already been 58 days

Hello,

Received a Correspondence letter confirming that biometrics are valid for 10 years : 23rd October 2019.

1.can anyone please guide me how long it takes after this to receive a passport request?
2. Is there a chance of rejection after this?
3. Is it necessary for the eligibility status to change or can they make a decision directly?
Reason for visit visa application: expecting my first child in December 2019

@Mishalalam We are on the same boat. I have also received biometrics correspondence letter today, but still waiting for the final decision. My wife is expecting in November but so far no luck in TRV. My trv was refused last time so this is my second application. Please keep us posted if you receive your decision tonight. Thanks

If you don’t mind, can you please share the reason why the visa was refused the first time? Just to make sure, you are the main applicant?

Yes - I'm the main applicant. Just normal refusal reasons that they aren't satisfied. They said i don't have strong ties with Canada or Pakistan. And my purpose of visit wasn't strong enough. Although i have a good travel history, a very good bank statement as well as had provided my assets details with valuation reports.

Thank you.
Good luck with everything.

I will update you once if I receive any updates.
From reading other posts, it seems like people usually get an update about the decision within a week of receiving the correspondence letter.

Looks like they are processing all the August applications right now. A couple of my friends who applied around early-mid August also received correspondence letters today.

Hi,

I wish you the best and hoping that you hear some good news soon.

Would you mind sharing the range of your income and which document you have submitted with the app which substantiates your income like NOA, employer letter or pay stubs.

I also applied TRV for my parents 2 years ago, it was a comprehensive application and I was like 99% sure that they would be approved however it was refused just because my income was lower than LICO for my family size including my parents (7 members). I was really shocked to know that even for TRV they look at the income level of Canadian host. Though the assets from my parent's side were strong and reasonably good bank balance however the outcome was discouraging that one do not feel to apply again.

This time I have applied a super visa for them and lets see how it goes, I wish that they get through this time inshAllah.
It is really distressing emotionally as well as you don't want to see your efforts go in vain like this.

Wish each one of us a success in this journey.

Looking forward to have your response on the range of income. Thanks,

Hello,

My income is around $40,000 CAD. Total Household Income is more than $100,000 CAD. Attached pay stub, letter of employment, tax filing letter.
We also attached papers of the house we have bought to show that we can accommodate visitors. Also mentioned the number of bedrooms in the house.

For parents' attached the bank statements, letter of employment, pay stubs, property papers (plots and house) to show that they have ties back home.

Also attached a letter from my doctor confirming my due date as proof that I am expecting my first child.

This whole process is emotionally taxing anyway. I am just hoping that we hear a positive response soon Inshallah.
Good luck to you as well.
