So, I was interested in knowing the approach of ICES BCIT, regarding ECA of Law degrees. FAQ section of their website clearly states that in past they used to give it a credential of 'first professional degree' but NCA/Law Societies instructed them to suspend the same. I sent them an email to confirm. They agreed that it is still suspended. So don't send your law degrees to ICES BCIT.

Interesting! I hope they don't write IQAS to give the same directive.
I just wonder what the rationale for such directive is, given the fact that IRCC clearly states on their website that Bachelor of Laws is equivalent to a first professional degree. One would think that for the process of immigration that their directing body should be the IRCC and not the NCA. NCA is and should strictly be for the licensing process but then, what do I know?

If your goal is to claim points for your LLB as a professional degree, go for IQAS.
Hey I read about how you're dealing with CIC after you put 5 yrs llb as professional degree.. so were you able to get through with it? Did they consider your explanation on why it is professional ?

Has anyone evaluated their 3 year LLB degree and received a positive response from WES considering it a professional degree?

Go for the highest degree evaluation, hence in your case Masters. You only need ECA for your highest degree.
I have a BALLB (Hons.) - 5 years course and a post graduate diploma in media laws (distance learning) from NALSAR University.

Do I have to get my BALLB (Hons.) assessed or my PG diploma assessed ?

Well I just received my WES report for a LLB degree from Amity University in India.
They considered it as a "First professional degree in law (Juris Doctor)".
I was expecting it to be a Bachelors degree and when was willing to write to CIC for clarification. However, WES gave me the professional tag, so no need to write to CIC regarding this anymore.
Can you tell me what you did differently compared to those whose degrees are being evaluated as Bachelors degrees. I have an integrated BALLB (Hons.) from Amity Law School, I.P University, Delhi.

Do CES or ICAS considers BA LLB degree (integrated course of 5 years) from IP University, India as a Master's Degree or Professional degree?
WES evaluated it as Bachelors degree (Four Years).
