Oh yes, you can...only thing you can't do while moving to Canada on a Tourist Visa is work or search for work. If you cannot afford that, add open work permit to it and it will work until you get your PPR.

@Ronja5200 has done this.

Hey Prashant,

Does going to Canada on a tourist visa to shift the visa office work for ppr? I have applied as a family so does it mean all members have to be in canada ? also once the transfer of the files is done how long does it take for ppr? is this an option I can look at too?

Other can comment too....
13.5 months since aor and waiting!!

I applied for PR on 29th June 2018. Eligibility is still in progress. I don't know how long do they take to review the profile. The ironic part is that I received a nomination from Ontario and they also must have checked everything and had no problem. I have lost all the excitement to move to Canada. It's a boring and a really long journey to permanent residence that just makes you miss out on the fun in your home country.

Totally Dissatisfied with the process. Its been 14 months and the officer has never been able to review my application even once.

A question to all the wise men/ women here!

Once the Passports with a stamped visa is received how many days does on have before they have to land in Canada? is it subjective or is it fixed or does one have the option to choose when to go....cause it will take me time to wind up things in my current country ( that is after I get the PPR....!!! )any and every information will be helpful
thanks in advance
It is not subjective. The visa is valid till the date of your medical expiry and you need to enter before that. They sometimes auto extend medicals or ask for re-medicals if case was waiting for long. In those cases you may have almost a year to enter. The date will be clearly mentioned on your COPR and Immigrant visa that they stamp.

You can do it, yes. Since it is a Visitor visa, you will have restrictions. Cannot stay more than 6 months at a stretch. Cannot work...etc. although, it is not a dire necessity to take the whole family. It is better to move change address along with the family.

As it is a visitor visa, it won't be actually shifting. But you may still tell them the new address and move your application to local VO.

The most important question. How much time after file moves. No one knows. It may or may not affect your timeline at all.

I would suggest waiting at your home location than moving to Canada just for the sake of seeing some movement on your file, unless you have loads of money.

My application is already 14 months. No re-medical request yet. Just called CIC, the agent said "seems like they are finalizing your security screen check, and they are review you eligibility". I am little bit worried that why they review my eligibility at this time while my security is almost done. Is this a good sign a bad sign???

I have an update on my application. I had received a re-medical request last week. Now, I have completed the medical exam by booking appointment with panel physician and taking required exams.

Do I need to submit/upload the medical confirmation page (that I received from the Panel Physician) to my application/Web-Form?
OR
Should I expect my Panel Physician to upload/send the medical results to IRCC via e-medicals?

FYI, my timeline is shared below:
AOR: Sep 2018
Med Pass: Oct 2018
Re-medical Request: August 2019

Congratulations!

Ideally, you are not required to do anything however it is suggested you upload the scan image of the confirmation page through a web CSE.

Please do don this.. if u say u r on visitor visa u cannot give address to shift ur VO..
Visitor visa is single intent visa only for tourism.
If officer even gets a hint of dual intent... he will send you back to your country..
With work visa you can do as work visa with lmia are dual intent..

Hello everyone,

First time posting here in this forum.

I want to get an idea of how many people are still waiting on their PPR email.

My application is on RR since September last year and I have reached out to IRCC via their web form a couple of months ago as I found out that I had a mismatch in NOC submission.

Yesterday I received a procedural fairness letter. Arnt these letters normally as i have read is when they are planning to refuse however they asked for proof of funds, RPRF and some job letters unrelated to the primary applicant...i am honestly really confused and this letter came over a month after I passed remedical
