Yes my fiancee has an interview next week at the manila VO. We are doing conjugal sponsorship. How was your experience ? May I ask why was an interview required in your application ?

during that time our application was common law and we did not live together for a year before the application was filed but we were together before for a couple of years and we got seperated. Interviewer was Filipino and he was so mean ...he is trying my wife to answer and admit to questions that it is not true but he keep insinuating it. Fairly enough she was denied because we are not together for a year before we file the application...but make sure you answer everything truthfully ...
So they denied common law cause u weren't together for 1 year? Sorry to her that. Did u reapply ?
U had the interview at the Canadian embassy ? Was the interviewer Filipino/Canadian or a Filipino ? Do u remember what kinds of questions he asked? Last question. When you got the letter from immigration inviting her for an interview do u remember what they asked her to bring to the interview ?
He said that the interviewer was a Filipino, probably a dual citizen I would gather. As for common-law, it's 1 year living together before the application is submitted, not living together 3 years ago for 2 years and separated 1 year before you submit your application, this won't fly if you will apply under common-law.

We got married now and applied as spouse ...yes she was interviewed at the Canadian embassy ...to us its a set of different question because we applied under common law..probably it will be different for you too..just be careful what you answer to the interview they will find ways to see if you are lying and if they do find out that there is misrepresentation they will ban you for five years...
While i think there is latitude in the interview for the VO officer to get the answers they need to verify the legitimacy of the application, it is still an interview and not an interrogation.
Agreed. The letter we got asking for the interview asked my spouse to bring updated communications between me.and her. My lawyer said the officer probably wants to make sure we are still together as we are doing a conjugal application as we aren't married.

Would like to share my overall timeline and journey :
March 22 - Application Received
March 16 - Sponsor Approval
May 23 - Transferred to Manila Visa Office
May 27 - Started processing application PA
May 30 - Biometrics Completed
June 8 - Medical Passed
July 29 - Ghost Update
August 7 - PPR (Email and GCKEY) and Pre Arrival Letter (GCKEY) DM on ECAS
August 8 - submitted passport
August 12 - processed passport ready for pickup/gckey changed status to approved.
August 13 - Passport collected with visa at vfs
Although the waiting was frustrating but i guess MVO is now moving fast, in less than 5 months everything was processed. I will be flying to canada by the end of the month and super stoked to finally be with my husband. We have been LDR for 3 years and married for 8 months. Previously, i applied for 3 trv's which were all refused so my husband (then boyfriend) was the one visiting me, twice since he left in 2016 to migrate with his family. I am still praying for everyone here to be approved soonest because I know the agony of not being able to visit your loved one. And keep being patient because they are doing their best to permit everyone in canada the soonest without jeopardising the security of canada. Hugs and kisses for everyone

Just an update for mine. I just finished my repeat xray today. And all is great. Why I had a repeat xray? Well, guys i undergo smear or sputum test and wait for the culture for two months. Start a uli kmi ni hubby sa paghihintay uli . Goodluck to ua everyone

Good to hear that mvo is moving although we’re still praying that they’re able to progress from 2018 “backlog.” 10 months and counting and waiting for the golden mail. #KapitLang
