please i will like to know something, those of you applying for masters program, where you accepted by a supervisor in the schools before applying or you just applied?
Emmmm, it's better you secure a supervisor before applying (as most schools will state) and some schools will tell you not to worry about supervisor that you'll be provided during admission, don't mind them, many at times you end up not getting a supervisor, and thus no admission.

From my own experience, I tried 2 schools without first securing supervisors (cause they said it wasn't necessary at the time of application) those schools rejected me at the end cause no supervisor will take me.

It means your biometric has been acknowledged. There has been certain unpredented delays with certain April, May, and June (especially) applications. Though, most April and May appliacnts are getting updates but not has it ought to have been.

BTW you can send email or webform to IRCC to enquire the status or your application. You can also use the gckey online account to monitor the stages of your application or link your it online if you applied via paper route

Getting approval or refusal has no definite timeline. Once a biometrics is acknowledged by IRCC, the commencement of your application processing will begin. I am not saying your application hasn't began, but usually, this is the routine.

I applied since June 12, biometrics was on June 14. But I got an update to pay my first year tuition and provide a new bank statement on June 27 and I paid and submitted everything on July 8. It’s more than 6 weeks since my application and I haven’t gotten any update. My application update shows we’re processing your application. We’re reviewing your eligibility and we’re processing your background check. Medical is also complete. Should I be expecting an update soon or what could be the cause of the delay, I applied online from Nigeria and the processing time is 7 weeks. Please I need responses.

You are very lucky to be getting updates, as many June 2019 applicants from Nigeria have not even got a single update.

As it seems, you application is going fine. BTW who asked you to pay your first tuition fees?

Currently, with the information you've provided, your background check and eligibility review seems to be running concurrently. In fact, you application is almost in the final stage. Have you been called for medicals?
