Hey Guys,

Any Pakistani applicant got a Procedural Fairness letter regarding their previous marriage not dissolved completely?

I received this PFL where the officer is not completely satisfied with the divorce certificate I have submitted for my previous marriage and after looking closely I realized there is an issue with the dates on Divorce certificate. Union council and then Nadra messed it up.

Date of Notice of Divorce: 04 March 2017
Date of Failure of Conciliation: 04 May 2017
Date of Effectiveness of Divorce: 04 May 2017

Entry Date: 04 February 2017
Issue date: 24 May 2017

Date of Notice of divorce should be 04 February 2017 for the full 90 days but person who entered these details screwed it up and I never noticed this until now.

If any of you have a divorce certificate, Can you share your dates in order above for me to compare if I am on a right track here please?

Anyone gone thru this already? Want to know other than a corrected Divorce certificate what else people have provided in past?

You are right, IRCC specifically looks into these dates.
Date of Failure of Conciliation should be of 90 days after the Date of Notice of Divorce. These dates confirm that 90 days are served as law for reconciliation/iddat.
Suggest you to immediately get this corrected from Union Council and re-submit with a detailed explanation letter.

Appreciate your input on this.

I intend to. Will be submitting a detailed explanation letter along with corrected Divorce certificate.

Even though it is clear what I need to do, I wanted to get input from people who might have gone thru this. Always good to get opinions.

My application was recieved on April 11 2019. Biometrics given on 20th june and medical exam passed on 23rd june 2019.
Background check is in process since so what is the next step? And when should i expect my PR application to get approved by CIC as my online status shows 9 months remaining

Thats great.. I hope u get ur PR soon.. Next step is ur file transfer to related visa office, if PA is from Pakistan, then file will be moved to London visa office.. This visa office is veryyyyy slow in processing and is backlogged... Hope they work faster as many december applicants r waiting for file transfer so we all are in line.. Gud luck..

Hi All,

My wife's Visa was just granted, I will outline my timeline below.
This was truly one of the most difficult times of my life, being away from someone you love and have grown to love more and more was a test for us both. I pray that others get their visa soon, and are reunited with their partners.

  • March 14, 2018 - Package Received by Mississauga office
  • April 26, 2018 - AOR - Letter of undertaking sponsorship
  • May 4, 2018 - Medical Passed
  • July 6, 2018 - AOR 2 - File moved to London Office
  • (contacted old MP through out these dates stating around Dec 2018 and got no results)
Waiting ~11 months with no answer
  • June 12, 2019 (contacted new MP who was extremely helpful)
  • June 14, 2019 - Remedical and Police Certificate request
  • June 15, 2019 - Pre-Arrival Letter
  • July 2, 2019 (contacted MP)
  • July 4, 2019 - Medical accepted/Police Certifcate sumbitted prior
  • July 4, 2019 - Passport Requested
  • July 8, 2019 - Passport Submitted.
  • July 11, 2019 - Visa Granted!!!
  • July 26, 2019 - Flight and landing
added later, no letter sent
June 24, 2019 - Background Check Letter
July 10, 2019 - Decision Made

It took us almost 16 months, and our file went into a secondary review, I am not sure why but I have release of information documents to go through.
But right now we are both soo happy to even think about anything else.
