Because the Call Centre is staffed by poorly trained people who can barely handle the most basic question and give wrong information all of the time.

Same answer as above. Poorly trained and doesn't know anything about the inland spousal pilot project.

Generic application information. Most other people must apply online. Inland spousal applicants must still print it and mail it in. They can only apply online after AIP, which is near the end of the process.
You've been so helpful, thank you. Yes the rep on the phone didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about. I asked about 12 questions and now I feel that I received wrong info for all of them. Can I private message you to clarify some things?

So I've gathered all my questions, I hope you can answer some of them and thank you again for your help:

1) Some forms ask you to fill out a "from" and "to" date. For example, IMM 5669 #6 Personal History - Current Job. How do I indicate that this job is ongoing/current without leaving the field blank? I know we are not allowed to leave ANYTHING blank. There are a few instances of this in the entire application.

2) Do I as the sponsor have to fill out form IMM 5406 (Additional family information)? It says at the top "The principal applicant, their spouse or common law partner (if applicable), and any dependents must complete their own copy of this form". I am the common law partner but I'm not applying for PR...

3) In IMM 5532, it asks about the sponsors (me) employment history. There was a period of time that I was studying in university and being supported by my parents but I still had a well paying job as a teaching assistant during those years. Do I write that I was a student or do I have to attach an extra document literally listing 16 contract periods (that's how many I had starting at different times throughout the year).

4) In IMM 5532, under #5 Address history: we traveled together for a few months nonstop abroad before we settled in Canada, therefore the first 3 months of our "one year living together to be considered common law" was spent traveling together. Therefore, does he write his parents address and I write my parents address for that period of time? Or do we had a 3 month section that says "no address, traveling by bicycle and sleeping in tent in Europe"?

5) In IMM 5532 it states #4 "Are you living together now? If yes, how long have you been cohabiting together etc? If you are not living together, have you visited each other? Is yes, state dates below.". We ARE living together ...However we haven't been living AT THAT address for 1 year. Like I said in the previous question, we traveled for 3 months together. Our relationship was also long distance for 2 years prior to that so do we still fill out this section of all the times we visited each other before our 1 year of living together started?

6) Same form but #7 asks to list friends and family that know about our relationship. It gives space for 5 people so do we only include 5 people or more, or all 100 people that know both of us?

7) For the statutory declaration of common law, it says "Choose the persons title from one of the following: notary public, commissioner of oaths, commissioner of affidavits". A commissioner of oaths is much cheaper than a notary public but someone told me it should be signed by a notary public. Any advise on this?

8) On IMM 5589 page 6 of 10 #2 Civil status documents: IT says "if you have any formal documentation supporting your common law relationship...". Can we use the statutory declaration IMM form here too?

9) Do I as the sponsor have to be and fill out the form for use of a representative? I'm concerned because it says "IMPORTANT: ......if not provided, application will be returned."

1. Put the date you sign the form.

2. Sponsor does not fill out any applicant forms.

3. I would explain on a separate sheet listing the contracts.

4. No fixed address and explain on a separate sheet.

5. It doesn't ask about addresses. It just asks if you are living together and for how long. Only people not living together list visits.

6. If they wanted 100, there would be 100 spots. 5.

7. "Someone" is an idiot. Says right on the form who can so it.

8. Sure. That means you need 2 separate original Stat Decs.

9. You don't have to.

THANK YOU! One other question:
On IMM 5556 (Document checklist FOR A WORKER/OWP), under Documents List, it has a check box for "If you are a participant in the IEC program, provide proof of health insurance covering the intended extension to your length of stay in Canada".

My partner is currently on a working holiday visa so he has health insurance from his country (Belgium) covering the year that his WHC is valid for. He will continue working on implied status when we apply for his PR and OWP so he won't have health insurance anymore. Does he need to extend this insurance AND provide proof that he has it? If so, HOW LONG does he extend it for?

That is only for people applying for IEC.

He definitely should. It is never a good idea to be in any foreign country without insurance. However, not required for the app.
Thank you kindly! Question 6b on the IMM1344 form asks for the date we entered into the common-law relationship. Is that the date we "started living together" or the date that we are considered common law after living together for 1 year?

After one year.

No. Just a lot of time on this forum and doing research.

I've noticed that people have been receiving their OWP's before their sponsor is even approved (AIP).
In theory, what happens if my common law partner receives his OWP, but afterwards we are denied because we didn't have enough proof for being considered common-law? Can he work under the new OWP or will that be void? If it is void, can he continue to work under his Working holiday visa which is valid until November or would have that been voided when he was issued his OWP, prior to being denied?

I hope that question makes sense.
