hello everybody.
Please i need to clarify some informations i read about the federal self employed stream
1) can an employee whose job description fit into the list of self employed apply?
2)can a broadcast engineer who works in a radio station as an employee of over 2 yrs work experience apply for this stream?
3)must the person operate his own business?
4)must the business name be registered to qualify for this stream?
5) i need help on the letter that shows how i intend to establish a business in Canada.
6)how can a photographer show proof of experience?. Is it by sample pictures or what?
7) Please i need response from those who have completed the process or almost done.

AOR and Request for Biometrics: May 23, 2019
Biometrics Done: May 29, 2019
Waiting for the next step now.

1. Yes. If the employee can prove the work done was ‘world class’ this will count as participation.
2. Same as above
3. Not necessarily, the stream says 2 years self-employed experience or participation in cultural activities/athletics
4. Business registration is not stated as a requirement however applicant must prove beyond all doubts that he/she operated the business either by showing invoices, contracts, bank details, client references and personal tax certificates
5. This is pretty straightforward, there is no template. Simply in your own words walk the visa officer through on how you intend to set up your business when you arrive
6. Refer to no.4
7. Well I’m almost done with the process...awaiting PPR email

I gone through all the pages under this thread. When I clicked the link which posted in previous pages. It shows that no longer accepting new applications the farm of management stream of self employed person program. However, I read many cases which are on processing lately. I am so confusing now. Anyone can clarify this to me? Thanks in advance!

Ya they have closed the farm management stream. Those people had applied before they closed the stream. Which was the link did you try to click for?
Wow you’ve got a one-month AOR. Where are you applying from and what is your nationality?
Thx for your reply. That means I can’t use this program to apply anymore? Why I saw others whom said that they just send the application in Dec 2018?

Based on noc 5244, you can apply under the federal self-employed category under the cultural stream.
Not the farmowners stream or the Olympian athletes or coaches stream.

Hi all!
Thank you to each and all's input regarding profitability/earnings and Proof of funds.
I have a question now: if your application is denied are you allowed to try again and is there a time limit?
After going through all the information on this stream again on CIC I tend to agree that I stand a good change of succeeding as I have more than enough Funds and my business is operating at a profit. I might as well apply in February after tax season and see what happens but need to know I can try again later in the event of a denial.
Question 2:
I can't find anything about ECA requirements for this stream. It's only mentioned that you need to submit copies of your qualification certificates/transcripts.
Did you have your qualifications asses by WES or any of the other ECA organisations?

From my understanding, WES is not necessary for the self-employed stream. Even IELTS is not required.....
Hmmm...we are in the self-employed stream and IELTS was required for both my husband and me as were credential assessments. We used ICAS. My understanding is that all applicants must demonstrate language proficiency no matter the stream. I imagine an education credential assessment is optional and only if you want the points.
