Outland spouses is taking 12 months and more since this Mexico move. The hardest part is nobody is giving answers to when or how applications will be completed or handled for future files. Seems emails requests do
Not get any reply or updates.
not in my case, the most cases on this thread are for sponsorship, in my application for refugee my dependent (spouse and kids) were included, so when i got my approval, they got it too, now, how they are outland they need to apply for the visa and here we are

So do you now have to wait for Medicals. Etc. How long will it take to reunite, with this unfortunate news from the embassy and Mexico dealing with files. New apps have to travel outside Cuba for Medicals and biometrics. Will this affect your family’s visas. It terrible just as many of us were at the year end mark. Boom let’s close services.

Visa Office......
HAVANA
My husband called the Embassy in Havana. He was told that no one can drop off their passports for visas. There are only 3-4 staff members working and only dealing with Canadians. They do not have any business with Cuban passports. The lady also told him that because Mexico is the processing center, visa pickup is in Mexico. I told him that surely he could pick it up at a VAC, but the lady had told him Mexico. When I have looked into things more closely, it says that VACs
  • securely send your applications and passport to the visa office
So, the answer is....Visa pickup is in Mexico. You can take the passport to a VAC, but they will only send it to the visa office (Mexico) for processing and back. I guess some of us might be going to Mexico City.....

That sucks. I can't even imagine how Cubans are going to get to Mexico city to pick up passports. It feels like Canada is really trying to close the doors to Cubans.

Exactly cubans need visas for Mexico. Recently there were a few told to pick up visitor visas at the Havana embassy that were pre approved before may 8. So not sure how they are saying they are not dealing with Cuba and only Canadians. Other country’s that Mexico processed use vacs in those country’s. But seems the issue cuba has no vac, let’s pray there is a solution to make this process easier and start processing soon.

hahaha, we all pray for that! Actually, this telenovela is already getting us super crazy without an accurate news..and the worst part is that we are all the most affected in this up and down...
