Yes and we called and spoke to someone 4 times now. The last time the agent said we should have had it by now and he would send an email to the person working on it to let him know....that was on March 27th. Still nothing since then!!!! Just really baffled as thought it would be simple. Been together for 11 years, married for 9, child and both have multiple university degrees and no red flags are just an average family.
Yes I agree! Do you know if you're one of the only to have waited this long? Have others gotten it earlier?

Also not sure if you'll get extension on time as 31st is Sunday? Unless you submit it now. Can it be online?

OWP isn't reviewed for relationship proofs, it's a completly separate process and how fast or slow you can get it depends on the officer handling your case or how many files backlogged etc..
I believe you shouldn't keep calling them as they put a note on your file that you keep calling (which might not be good as they expect you to be patient) but I understand your frustration
Sometimes unfortunetly some OWPs get delayed or they put them through second review as @barsarah a september applicant: his OWP faced second review but he got AIP and DM now so he won't even need an OWP, he got approved as a PR!
So don't worry and never lose hope, greater things might happen surprisingly :)

Hey guys, does anyone know with the open work permit can we take online classes at a university? I'm thinking of taking the realtor requirements classes.

Easier said than done when as a family we are struggling financially...my husband really needs his OWP and a job so we can have less stress and put our lives back on track. It is a tremendous amount of stress living in Canada on one salary with children.

This is for November 2018 applicants Reema, so you won't find anyone with the same timeline as you in this forum, if you try searching for a Feb 2019 inland spousal thread you will be able to touch base with applicants on the same timeline as you

I'm soooooo STRESSED....why is this happening???? My husband's OWP has NOT been approved :-( November 27th applicant for PR and OWP. We have been together for 11 years, married for 9, child and both have multiple university degrees and no red flags. We are just an average family.

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Since we know that sponsoring or being sponsored by your spouse or common-law partner is an important event in your life, we want to ensure that you have all the information and tools at your disposal to make this process as easy and enjoyable as possible.

As of December 22, 2014, open work permits may be issued to eligible applicants under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class at an earlier stage in processing if they meet certain criteria. We verified the information on file. However, it has been determined that you do not meet the eligibility criteria.

Your application for the open work permit remains valid and will be processed once your sponsorship application is approved in principle.

I'm sorry to hear that
Though his OWP is not rejected or as you said (not approved), his OWP is just going to be issued after AIP which he might get it soon
Has your husband ever lost his status in Canada?
Or was he on implied status/ out of status when he applied for OWP ?

Thanks. Everything with his status was OK...we moved here in June and applied for visa extension in October as his 6 month was going to run out in December.

How long does AIP take as we have had NO movement with our PR either. Being in Canada on my salary and not having my husband work is extremely tough :-(
