HELLO
I RECENTLY GOT MARRIED AND MY HUSBAND IS INLAND.
HE CAME UP ON FARMWORK AND LEFT AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS DUE TO WORKING CONDITIONS. WE APPLIED FOR A VISA EXTENSION IN DECEMBER THROUGH A IMMIGRATION LAWYER, LITERALLY 15 DAYS BEFORE HIS STAMP WAS UP FOR HIS PERMIT AND STILL HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING BACK YET. IS THIS NORMAL?

ALSO, I SEEN IT TAKES 6-8 WEEKS TO REGISTER A MARRIAGE IN ONTARIO AND ANOTHER 12 WEEKS TO GET THE LICENCE... AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK HERE? MY QUESTION IS, DO WE NEED THE LICENCE TO SUBMIT OUR PAPER WORK OR CAN WE USE THE MARRIAGE SOLEMNIZATION WE SIGNED WHEN WE GOT MARRIED?

I HOPE I DID NOT CONFUSE YOU :)
You MUST use the marriage CERTIFICATE. The license and/or long form certified copy are not accepted. If you dont send the marriage certificate it WILL be mailed back to you.
Sorry crappy news I know. But dont waste your time without the certificate.

No problem. A friend of mine did her hubbys (Jamaica, inland) and didnt have her certificate yet, but did show some other documents (solemization, and proof she ordered cert) and her app was sent back.

Hey everyone, I'm new here and would love some help. My sister is sponsoring my mother, and I have been listed as a dependent. Okay, so here's the 101 on what's happened so far:
  1. We received your application to sponsor ***** ******* ******** on May 23, 2018.

Dependents listed on the application are: ****** ******** ********.
  2. We started processing your application on December 3, 2018.
  3. We sent you correspondence on December 3, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
  4. We sent you a letter on February 27, 2019. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. Can anyone tell me what comes after this? will they request the medical and police records next? and how long til we hear from them again?
Any advice will help. :)

Whenever you get to Jamaica, try some local sites to get everything you need. I mean, you can do your research to make sure you don't spend more money than you actually can. Let's take a car. You can easily look for a used on some place online.
When you just move to Jamaica, you don't necessarily need to buy new things. Find all the ways you can save as much as possible. Don't let people make you spend a lot.
This was just a friendly advice of a someone who has recently moved to a new place.

Good Morning Everyone! Happy New week I hope for good news for everyone who is waiting. Please continue to keep the faith.

I have another question regarding an inland spouse ... Can I add him to my benefits at work even though he does not have a health card? It does not ask for this information on the paperwork HR gave me and I do not want to ask them because I do not want the whole office to know my situation... confidentiality is questionable here. I think I may just call the insurance company, but just wondering if anyone here has past experience with this.
