Okay folks ... There are now 6 known cases of Application on Hold in Montreal and many are from June. My guess is something happened that has put your files on hold.

I know @NandiniAS , @Y@$h, @praveen07cse , @serene17, one person who had PMed me (and for life of me I can't find that now) and one case in the excel sheet of Montreal - Total 6

I don't think it is a coincidence and as far as I know about all your cases ... all your cases are different from each other.

I think you folks can compare your GCMS notes to check if there is a pattern that you see ..

1. Did it happen on same date?
2. Is it the same agent?
3. Is there any other similarity in your notes

I think may be we can find some key to why applications went "On Hold" and may be think of some step to resolve it.
Sorry, if I am raising a moot point . Is this “on hold” show as status on your online account. And did it occur after 6 months or before ?

One more question: My background check has started but no decision on eligibility has been made. Question is : Does background check start only after eligibility is met and passed?
If you’re referring to online status of eligibility than it changes only after copr is printed.

I am referring to Eligibility in general, not what is shown to us in the CIC account. I guess it makes sense for them to start background check only after they know that a candidate has met the eligibility. What do you think?

Just checked my account status got changed from 'Submitted' to 'Updated'. The background check has finally started. Can anyone let me know what that means and when can I expect some news on PPR. Completing my month 7 on Feb 24th.
Based on this, mine's coming out only in late March lol.

There's something I don't understand though. We've had reports of people with early August AORs getting their PPRs, so why is it that some July applications are still seemingly ongoing? I mean, if there was at least some indication that there's been some problem, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Is the VO for AUG people, who got PPR, also montreal?

If I may ask for that, I need a word of encouragement.. @Adeife23 @maverick1982 @cansha
It would be ironical to give any words of wisdom given how I was feeling at the same situation. Personally, I don’t believe in saying or hearing be positive because that helps only if you have any role to play in outcome.

However I will say this ( something I told myself) the long part of the wait is done, from here on hopefully it’s a matter of days and not months.

Second, find something to channel your anxiousness. For me it was this forum and collecting data. Many people found it useful but I did it to spend my nervous energy. So find something that helps that and spend sometime and energy there.

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum. We submitted all the docs on 7 Sept 2018 and there has been no update after we passed the medical test in October. After repeated attempts, I was able to reach CIC on call. I was informed that our application is in Montreal and the agent said that "eligibility is about to be completed". Can someone please guide me what does about to be completed mean in cic parlance and what could be the tentative processing time? We complete 6 months in 15 days and still in IP1, too anxious now. Please provide your valuable inputs.

@Canmatbay If you both take some time to read through this thread you'll find that all your questions have been answered.
