Mine was recieved on Jan. 30, still waiting for AOR and also for the OWP, visitor visa expires in mid April, should I apply for an extend? Or is there a chance i will recieve OWP before?

I am in the same situation, my passport and visitor visa expire in two months and I might need to leave the country to renew my passport what is the best solution in this case ?

another question : does the OWP work as a visa that allows me to enter the country or should i maintain my visitor status until the approval of the application ?

Don't worry, if you sent a completed package then you are good. Usually, if there is a problem with the app, something missing or not filled out correctly, they would send the app back within the first 2.5 weeks.

Good Luck!
Not true! My app was returned after two months of waiting because I missed something :(

I have asked about leaving the country once we recieve the OWP but the answer was, once the application is in process for inland I can not.

What I may suggest is ask if you can renew your passport from your country's embassy here in Canada, so you can apply for extension of visa, until you get the OWP.

Hey everyone!

Its my first time posting, but im a longtime lurker in the forum since January (when I submitted my app).
I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I am currently on a Student Visa that expires in late 2021. I want to visit California this May to see my family and kick off summer vacation with my husband.

I was assuming since I have a multi-entry student visa and my PR is in process that there will be no problem with me leaving Canada for a small vacation (5 days) and then coming back. Do you think that there is any extra preparation I should have or there are any complications I may encounter?

Thank you for your time and help, and good luck to us all!

When was you applied the visitor record?
And did you submit paper based or online?
I applied for the renewal of my visitor record on December 17th, 2018 before my other one was set to expire (Dec 31st, 2018 expiry). I was on implied status and could not leave. It was approved on February 14th (nice valentines day gift eh?) Anyways, I applied online and for me a renewal is very easy being an American citizen, plus I have had other Visitor Records, 3 of them to be exact, and have always renewed them before my status expired. I would recommend to anyone, if you can apply online for extensions for the VR, if you want your new document before the old one expires, apply a minimum of 2 - 3 months before the expiration, online. If its not a big deal, like for me because I had no plans to leave, I applied last minute. If it wouldn't have been approved, I would have been considered out of status.

Hi everyone,

I am not sure if I am correctly posting here.
I have applied for my pr through spousal sponsorship. Based upon respond from Canada post, it was receved on January 16.
I have a question. I asked for a Canada express post plus signature which should make it a courier service. But the lady ( working there) said we don’t have a courier service in Canada.
So, I sent it to the normal address which means they only delivered it. Canada post said it was delivered by a large delivery room.
So, does anyone have heard or had same experience here? Does my mail get lost using this address? Your answers and help would greatly appreciate.
By the way it was inlan

I didnt even ask for a signature on mine, and it said it was "delivered to service's personal postal delivery" dont know what that means, but i'm trusting its right where it needs to be
