Wishing you the best of luck and a prosperous future in our new country!

Have you found accommodation ?

It would be great if August people meet.
Thanks buddy.
yes, after a lot of research and rationalisation, I finalised an accomodation. Can help you a bit if you want. DM me (just so that other people are not disturbed by a specific conv.)

@gau55555 ,@tobs ,@cansha guys need your wisdom here ,
I know I may be playing dumb but I am confused by the answers I got from a very nice agent. I had a so called ghost update yesterday and I called today to inquire about it. She told me that my background verification is complete and yesterday an officer worked on my file so that might have triggered the update.
I asked her whether they have a closure on my eligibility I mean any recommendation or updates , she said eligibility is not mentioned here and recommendations on eligibility remain the same as previous. Keep checking your account for any correspondence.

My question is , when they say background verification is complete , they include both criminality and security right ? Above it , do they complete security without a final decision on eligibility ?

I know from the stats here that a ghost update two and half months after IP2 mostly means a decision on the application but she didn't hint any such action on my application and so wanted your opinion.

AOR - 30 Aug
IP2 - 30 Nov

Cheers!
Sorry, couldnt reply earlier as m off the grid on weekend these days... Packed days for pack up.

Judging by the trend and the input you provided, its pretty sure that your file was approved. I am assuming that you got a ghost on Friday, so probably Monday should be your day.
Though as I have practiced over the time and also suggest all here in forum, that just keep the calm until you see the Bomb (PPR) . Ghost updates are good Omens (pardon my philosophy), but thats what the trend has been.
Timing, of the ghost is apt, . All the best bro.. I am sure your PPR is near.

Under activities and admissibility if u see redacted info with either s15 or s16 written on those pages at the top rite corner and your eligibility has been passed since last 2-3 months then u r in SS most likely

Can you see 'security screening' mentioned anywhere on your GCMS notes?

Just checked my GCMS notes received on 23rd Jan

Under admissibility, the section of security is blank with S15(1) mentioned on the top right corner

Then one page has a general note saying 'Page 71 is withheld pursuant to section 15(1) of the access to information act'

Security for my wife is also blank. She is a British citizen, born and raised in England. I don't think they need SS for her
Our security is going on since Nov'18 [started together]
I can not find the word 'security screening' anywhere

I went through the below link from canadavisa.com where a guy was in security screening and could see the word 'security screening' mentioned on his notes under S15.
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/how-would-i-know-if-i-am-under-security-screening.531972/

Now I wen't through this link to get some info:

https://www.getgcms.com/blog/s15-s16-top-right-gcms-denote/
Where it says for S15(1) :

Information under this section is hidden when IRCC or a Canadian agency has requested information from a foreign government or agency. It could be anything from checking your record in a foreign country to verifying the information you have supplied in your application. Canadian Security Intelligence Service or IRCC may also request information on your criminality or association with any organization, if they suspect any. This could also be seen when an applicant may have worked for a foreign government. Most of the applicants who see this on the GCMS notes, need not worry, as this is a routine check and does not impact the application. It is not harmful, unless IRCC finds something seriously wrong or something is discovered which would make the applicant inadmissible.

Btw, when I called up CIC last month, the agent told me that there are no red flags and my security is on going. She also did not mention security screening anywhere.

I am assuming that my security is taking time because I have been to 8 countries in last 10 years, including US once and UK twice. My US and UK visas are still valid. As per the above point on getgcms.com, I believe IRCC has requested our info from the countries we have traveled to which is obviously a routine check, to see in case someone got involved in something suspicious.

Anyone with a similar situation here? The S15 and S16 thing?

Hello everyone,
I have completed my 6 months mark on Feb. 9; are there applicants who have crossed 6 month mark and still waiting for decision?
What should we do to know about our application's decision?

Completed 6 months today !, I am a senior applicant now:p

Agent told me that since my application has completed 6 month, He will initiate a reminder to the concern office for reason for delay.

Don't know what this reminder will do?
If the agent was an honest one and it seems he/she knows the job, he can definitly shoot a reminder to the case officers. We have seen cases where people got PPR post their respective call agent raised a reminder post 6 Months. Be positive. And yes, do not start celebrations yet !!

Hello everyone,

What should we do to know about our application's decision?
Other than ordering GCMS notes as our friend @fahadxuberi suggested , you must give them a call and ask what is the latest on your application ? Is there any action item pending at your end , if not then could the agent on call put a note as a gentle reminder for your file? Ask visa office if you don't already know.
You can also raise a CSE asking about the visa office , if you don't know and seek the latest update on your application. I am sure the agent will address your concern with more interest and won't shun you off as you have crossed the time barrier they want us to wait before calling or raising a CSE.
You could also email the visa office directly asking the latest on your file.

I hope you get positive update soon :)

Cheers!
