Hey Guys, I applied to Sheridan for Public Relations and Corporate Communication for the fall intake on 20th of January. My IELTS score is a 7.5, no band score is below 6.5. What are the chances of me getting into Sheridan? I applied for Grad Certificate. Plus, by when should I expect the LOA?

Its good we share vital information with each other as a prospective student to avoid making silly or lousy mistakes that would cost us expensively
https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/63858380-265e-4948-8e96-ca50fceca2d7?_ga=2.237275528.964540470.1501869032-771005413.1497994661

Appalling study permit approval rates for Nigeria.. better go study elsewhere..

As at 2017, study approval rate for Nigerian applicant was 14.99%, it is probably less than 10% today, the latest stats are not yet out. What does that say to you?

All the best

Thanks on the info! The statistics doesn't prove any hindrances, this visa of a thing is solidly based on LUCK than MERITS; everybody can't get a favourable decision.

Stop hijacking threads on this forum and posting discouragements for prospective applicants

Your academic profile is good which won't prove tedious in getting into a college, the offers are "fully" issued after the deadline dates

But Sheridan College said that they will keep issuing offer letters till the start of term aren't they aware that we have other things to do like getting visa.

To be honest, its based on Merit for the most applicants, Most wealthy parents don't have issues unlike the middle-class people and vice versa.i will recommend We keep trying and not get discouraged from other peoples experience.

No worries it's just the facts, it is public knowledge, I got it from the IRCC website. They are supposed to use the information to arm themselves when applying..

They are however welcome to disregard the facts and continue to apply blindly..

There is nothing like hijacking post, it is a public social media discussion forum, you cannot tell me what to do. Also application is not based on luck, it is based on merit, or it was. Now that the approval rates have plummeted from around 55% in 2013 to about less than 15% in 2017, that is suggestive of lacking merit but straight forward rejection or profiling of applicants from Nigeria. Whether you agree or not, those are the facts. You should use the information to help you make and informed decision whether to proceed with the application or not, and if you must, it must be really tight.

Cheers

Hello,

Have you ever watched Game of thrones, what did Ygritte always say about John Snow? She always said to him (You know nothing John Snow).. lol

Now someone made inaccurate assessment of your academic record based on just as English test. But the school looks at your application holistically. From your undergraduate transcripts, to when you last graduated, to your GPA, etc, before they come to a final decision as to whether to issue you an LOA.. To be frank LOA is the easiest thing to get, but the harder part is to get a study permit. You did not state whether you have relevant work experience, or you are self sponsored or will be sponsored by a third party. All these will come into play when it is time to apply for your study permit. Let's talk when you have your LOA... No charges its free I can offer you free advise and help you understand your chances of getting a favorable study permit approval..

Cheers

Your response is very perceptive. You are correct on two points, approval is based on merit and more important financial status of sponsors, and also travel history of the applicant. If an applicant has 'struggling' sponsors, advanced in age, and does not have previous travel history, that is an absolute recipe for disaster. Advanced in age with no international travel history is like 25, 26, 27 years, talk less of being over 30 with no significant work experience.. So information is power.. You can choose to disregard it, or proceed blindly and hope for the best.. Typical of my people to always 'hope' for the best without arming themselves without the right knowledge.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Its so sad that I received my first rejection today from Uni of Saskatchewan.
My profile is
B.Sc Software Engineering - 3.09 CGPA (Idk how much is this in percentage but for sure above 70%)
3 months internship and more than 1 Year work experience as a software engineer.
Distinction for Final Year Project

Idk why they rejected me, But I applied to M.Sc Computer Science - Thesis option. What do you guys think about my profile is it that weak to make it to grad school?
