i am confused in selecting the noc and skill type, my husband is an HR Manager. i can see these professions in skill type A and 0, is it better to select from skill type 0? or A?

plus at the end of JDs they have written exclusions, wat does the heads in exclusions mean?
Hi ,

1- It makes no difference as long as it's category 0,A or B.

2- exclusions are pretty much job titles that fall under other NOC codes.

Hi All,
I am planning to apply under Express Entry program. I have a doubt regarding ECA for my master. I have done graduation in Bsc IT from GNDU, Amritsar and post graduation (MCA) from PTU which is now IKGPTU.

Do i need to get my ECA done for both of my degrees or only for post graduation ?

Thanks
Hi,

You can just have the post grad evaluated but I recommend getting both evaluated as there is no extra cost and its good to have all qualifications evaluated for future reference.

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.

Thanks Much YamPower, This is detailed one, but I have one question on EE profile in Education form, can I just submit my Masters and Graduation credentials only as I have ECA done only for these. Or do I need to provide my High School, Secondary High School as well ? This question seems lame to myself but I want to have a clarity before I proceed ahead, Thanks in advance !

Hi All,

I have a query regarding the reference letter from previous employers. I have close to 8 years of experience and unfortunately I have changed 4 companies in the span of 8 years
Company 1: 3 years
Company 2: 4 months
Company 3: 6 months
Company 4: 1.2 years
Current Company: close to 3 years
I think it's impossible for me to get the reference letters from all these companies. But I have all the relevant documents like experience letters, pay slips, form 16 etc.

Also, since anything more than 3 years is treated the same, does mentioning last 3 years of experience suffice?

Please guide me with this situation.

Hello,

While I was helping one of my friend to create a profile under express entry. Under his education he is seeing two options:
1. Fulltime Education
2. Part Time Education

We're confused which one should he choose because - He has got MBA (distance study). WES ECA says Masters Degree.
But during last three months of his study period he started working fulltime and is now claiming points of that experience as well. It totally makes sense to choose the Part time Education - but we just wanted to confirm the same.

Any information in this regard will be a big help!!!!
Thanks in advance!!!!

P.S. We even checked selecting either of the options makes no difference in overall CRS Scores.

you should definitely select part-time as you will not be able to defend full-time claim if questioned by Vo.

Hello,

I have a unique case to share (my own case). I am taking a help of a visa consultant as well on this matter but want to know any similar experiences of any other forum members here.

ITA : 1st Draw of May 2018

Accepted and submitted with full documents : July 21st 2018 (visa fee paid)

November 3rd 2018 : I get an email saying :: There was an administrative error with your application number. We have deleted your old application however your data is safe with us please link your account to new application (they provided the hyperlink in that email).
New Application Number, New Unique Client Identifier as well.

Also they asked for the Visa Fee Again.

November 9: I paid the visa fee again and notified that I have already paid the same so they emailed back a link for refund (which I have not taken yet).

My question here is that has someone experienced this kind of thing??
Also how much more time do you think they're going to take to make a decision?

Typically I have seen my friends getting visa within 3 months (plus minus 15 days) time period after submission of the application where as my application has taken way beyond that (about to reach 5 months).

OR they have reset the clock while they created my new application:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Please do share your views!!

Thanks & regards
P.S. My consultant is dumbstruck on this never seen this type of thing ...lol
