I think this progress bar will be very generic, and it might say the estimated completion date is the day that your six months get completed. Coz who in IRCC will take the trouble to put in a probable completion date when they dont have time to look at our files even. Atleast if they give us updates on Eligibility, Criminality and Security, that will be a big help (ateast for future applicants).

I am going insane here waiting for PPR. My whole life is stagnant due to the delay in PPR....

i would like to clarify on the doubts that everyone is having after recieving the email.
i got in touch with cic agent after being on hold for 1.5 hours. They clearly said that it depends where is your application status and which process is being undertaken at this point of time.
For instance for applicants who are on their final stage of background check, it will show an estimate of how long will it take to process with an ETA of time when would their be a decision on their application.
The agent was not providing clear information about how the progress bar will look like and how it will show the current information but made clear that not every applicant will have that bar on 12th Dec and some might have to wait for a while to get that update which depends on their server.

I think this is a great step taken by IRCC to show an applicant where their application process is at current stage.

Hi Guys,

I am currently in Canada after completing an MBA with family back home in Pakistan due to rejected visa twice!! I have 3 kids along with wife on my PR application. We got our ITA in May and submitted our application 29th June. I got the same email as you guys about update on 12th December with progress bar. Which is what led me to this forum.

Anyway I had a couple of questions, would appreciate a response:

1. What is the AOR date?
2. Almost everyone has quite a detailed status update, for example criminality check, eligibility - recommended passed etc. How are you getting this info? I applied online and online it just shows medical passed and eligibility and background security check in progress. Can someone guide me on how to get this info.

Order your GCMS notes through ATIP. If your application has crossed six months, it will be pertinent for you to see as to where your application is stuck. For most of the Pakistanis who are in Canada, their applications get stuck in security screening. You need to check your status.

Welcome to the forum.

1. We all will get PPR soon.
2. A few files may take 10 months or even beyond but most files can be expected to clear in 6 months.
3. Few June people got PPRs in Sept. The same way Sept. Guys are getting now in Nov.
4. Ghost update is when you login to your CIC account and the status on the page where you see list of your applications (ITA & EAPR) as 'Updated' but when you click to see the full application there are no changes there. This is usually an indication of your file getting final approval. The only thing remaining from then is they sending PPR email.

We all are hanging in by the same thread, we should get our mails soon.

I think you should inform them immediately by raising a Case Specific Enquiry. If you wait until you receive your new passport and forbid and you receive your PPR by then, they might ask you the reason for your wait. It might lengthen the process, sure. But, there is no other way.

Also, assuming you are from India and bear an Indian Passport. Hope you have taken the tatkal route.

Did you file an FIR Report? It is needed to be attached when you inform them.

You need to send then Copy of the police report + Affidavit + Newspaper Advertisement + Application for the new passport. In ideal scenario. If not at least Police Report and Application for new passport.

I saw that on August forum and didn't comment there but will do on my home forum here. Whoever that agent was ... he was full of s*** and making up stories. I'll be extremely happy to be proven wrong though, but I don't think any of it is going to be true, Good thing is unlike our PPRs we don't have to wait long to find that out.

Next week is extremely important for June folks. I'm not expecting a lot of action in last 2 weeks of December. May be some action in Dec 3rd week as well but last week would be really barren. If USA government offices are a good indication on how things would be in Canadian government offices than our realistic chance is only in next week. After that I think we need to brace ourselves for January and later dates.

Also, Wednesday is probably going to bring in a lot of buzz when the so called progress bar goes live. Let's see how detailed it is and what exactly it shows. As I said earlier more than bar graph itself I'm going to keep my eye on that 6 month processing time guideline that we currently see.
