Finally, test invitation!

Application received: Oct 13, 2017
AOR: Nov 19, 2017
IP: Dec 7, 2017
FP request: July 10, 2018 (to Scarborough office)
test invitation: Nov 26, 2018 (test on Dec 11 2018 in Mississauga)

I've just received my new PR Card. lol

I have to travel to Hawaii to attend my best friends' wedding in late January. I will be okay? as long as my PR card is valid?
Congrats on test invite. You should be ok if you don't get oath invite by you travel date. I think if your oath is done, your PR card becomes invalid. (experts please confirm). you will need to get an urgent passport after 2 days of oath if oath happens before your travel date.

I'm an October 2017 applicant and finally did my test today at Scarborough. The interviewer at the end of the interview said that he has no concerns and that I should expect a citizenship ceremony invite in about 3-4 months. So the wait goes on. Lol.
I has my test today too at 8.20 AM today morning and my interviewer told me that as I'm Oct 2017 applicant (app received Oct 23, 2017), I will get oath next month (sometime in Dec). Strange they tell different dates to different ppl.

You must hand back your PR card at the oath ceremony, they take it and keep it with them. Then you need to wait 2-3 business days before applying for a passport.

Hi Everyone,

So I am approaching towards the 14th month of my application. I have contacted the Minister of Immigration and Citizenship last week. I got the following pre-typed email back from their office:

"Departmental records show that your application is currently on hold, pending completion of your background checks. As a result, citizenship officers have not been able to assess your case as quickly as they originally intended."

So fingers crossed as I have no idea how long further this could take. The waiting game is on!

I didn't know you can contact the ministry directly for this, would it make a difference than contacting the MP?

I got CIT 0520 shortly after my test and interview. I did my test and interview one year after my citizenship application.
They have asked for most of documents in CIT 0520 even bank and visa card statements. Do you think I need to wait a long time before I am invited to the oath ceremony?

Many thanks,

how did you interview go? did the officer ask you about your travel history or something? there must be something that triggered the CIT 0520 RQ

Interview went well. Did not ask any specific question. Not sure what trigered CIT 0520. I got it few days after interview.
