Hello All, I just received my letter for the final determination of permanent residence interview. Almost there.

I had a quick question I hoped one of you could help me with. In the letter it states "If you cannot attend this interview and/or have pre-booked travels outside of Canada in the 90-days following your final determination for permanent residence interview, please e-mail WST-Landing-Enquiries@cic.gc.ca or call the IRCC Call Centre at 1-888-242-2100."

I do have a trip planned, and the date of departure is exactly 85 days after the scheduled interview. What is the reasoning behind the 90-day stipulation? And how flexible is that amount of days?

Thank you in advance.
Oh wait, is the 90 days for processing of the actual PR Card?

My fiancé is a green card holder (Permanent Resident of US) while I am a Canadian PR holder. We are planning to get married soon but I am not sure how would I proceed with her case. The info given on this thread is from 2010 so I do not know if there has been any changes.

Since she does not need a visa, she can obtain an ETA and start living with me here in Canada but during this time would she be eligible for medical coverage? I am planning to ask my employer about how would this work if she doesn’t have a permanent status meaning if she would be covered for health care under my plan.

She also has attend her sister’s wedding next year so she would want to be able to travel outside of Canada.

I am very confused on how to proceed with this. Should I sponsor her as an Outland applicant or inland ?

If she comes on eta, how long will she be able to stay with me here in Canada? Do I have to send her back home and then apply her as an Outland applicant ?
Medical coverage depends on the province and your marital status. Coverage from your employer generally requires provincial coverage first, as it is simply an extension for things like PT, prescriptions etc.

IRCC states that if an applicant plans to leave Canada during the process, they should apply outland. If she applies inland, leaves and is refused re-entry, the inland app is abandoned. The risk of being refused re-entry is very low but no one can decide that for you.

Most visitors are given the standard 6 months on entry, which they can apply to extend. She can remain in Canada as a visitor extending her status while an outland app processes.

hello, i need your help. I applied for spousal sponsorship in November 2017 and after one year I contacted ircc. the immigration office rome wrote me in email and tell me that my application is in the queue to be interviewed but still had no date. A month later, just yesterday I contacted the visa office once again ,and in the morning I received an email saying that my application was being processed in this office, but it did not come up with interviews. ( they dont wrote nothing about interview) what can this be,? have changed their minds and do not want to interview me or what. Your help is appreciated very sincerely

As you have been told several times in several different threads, you just need to wait for your interview.

Hi Experts,

I am sponsoring my wife for permanent residency through family class. It has pasted 5 months and it seems there is no activity on her file yet.
So, I decided to order a GCMS note.
The AIPRP officer has asked me the following question:

"We require that you confirm which specific type of file you would like to receive:
- The sponsored person’s application for permanent residence (i.e. the immigration part of the application processed in a Visa office); or
- The application to sponsor a family member (i.e. the sponsor’s application processed at CPC Mississauga)."

I was wondering if could help me choose the one suits most.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am in the same boat. I have applied in July 2018 but still no AOR. Have you received AOR? if so, how many months it takes to receive AOR?

Thank you

Dear all,
I am about to submit an application for my wife who is in Bangladesh now. I know this application will be a straightforward application as we do not have any concerning issue. However, I am wondering, do you guys recommend me to hire a lawyer for submitting the application? I am pretty confused as sometimes I hear different stories of rejections for making honest mistakes in the application. I have contacted few lawyers and their charge is about $5,000-7,000 including application fees. Would you guys mind to recommend based on your experience?
Really appreciate for the advise.
Thanks!

Hiring a lawyer isn't necessary. I wouldn't. You can fill out the application yourself it's not hard.
