How was the interview???
We officially have PR!!!! Can't believe this journey is over.

The interview was very straightforward, and the interviewer was very nice. He just confirmed first date of entry to Canada, and asked if the applicant committed any crimes, if we have any dependents, and if the applicant was denied entry to any country. He didn't ask the sponsor any questions, just focused on the applicant. He voided all the previous work permits and visas, including in the expired visas. He also asked if we were planning to travel in the next 2 months, as that is the estimated time for the PR card. We did have plans but now we will not be going.

And that's it. He printed the paper, which is just a plain white paper with information on it, and said to keep it safe, and said congratulations you are a permanent resident now. The whole process took 20 minutes from the time of the interview.

I'd like to thank each and every one of you for your support and help, our application would have never been so robust if it had not been for all your contributions. We are truly grateful to be beginning this new phase of our lives :D

Application received October 18, 2017 here,
Stress level just jumped over the roof,
I have been reading all of your posts for the past year or more, from before I even applied trying to use all of your experience,
I have 3 red flags in my application:
She is a Canadian Citizen, however she was not born here,
We both are from different countries, same culture, but different countries,
we both never had past relationship (apparently that is a red flag according to an ex-immigration officer that I met at work which doesn't make sense to me given our culture).

My question, if someone can answer, My Canadian wife recently delivered our baby last month, Do I need to notify IRCC? When I applied, we didn't know that she was pregnant,
I may or may not passed a similar situation with a different applicant in the past, but I completely forgot, If someone knows, would you be able to share with me the reason of your answer?

Thank you everyone,
as an October applicant, the end is near (hopefully lol).

@TayWilson @Katerinachi

Congrats! I wonder why a bunch of October applicants are getting AIP so quickly. Do you guys know what office handled it (Mississauga or Vancouver?) Where are you guys living in Canada?
Thx)) It was a 4 years journey for me and my husband to getting PR in Canada, mine was over last year and his is on the way. We are in Toronto, so it's Mississauga.

For our financial support letters we've included bank statements (both joint and individual), pay slips, joint phone bills.
We are also getting our letters notarized along with my partners mothers. We included average pay/what we are being paid and what savings we have. Also getting my partners mother's letter notarized as proof she allows us to live rent-free and helps us to pay for anything we might need if we need help. We are going to get them notarized today.

We really hope this will be enough, as we can't think of anything else to add/do.

What do you think?

Fingers crossed

first things first, congratulations for the baby!
Yes you should inform IRCC of the birth (you did not need to report the pregnancy). For that, you will need a copy of the birth certificate. Once you have it, use the webform to inform IRCC and to upload the birth certificate.

October 13th applicant here! Haven't heard anything since medical passed in April. I haven't been expecting to hear anything for a couple months but all the October applicants getting AIP and SA is making me anxious lol.

Also, I linked my account but my spouse never did. In this case how will we know if we get SA?

Thank you! I'll relax and wait as I've been doing :) also, I wouldn't be surprised if mine takes a bit longer since I'm from a problematic country lol so I'll keep that in mind too

My wife landed earlier today too and can report exactly the same experience as you, there literally is nothing too it! We arrived 20 minutes early and got called in right away, we were done before the actual time of our appointment!

We were surprised the PR document was just a print off on plain old white paper, was figuring it would be something more fancy looking with a watermark etc lol

We then went straight off to get SIN and health card, this was a massive relief as she was out of status so had none of this.

Would also like to thank everyone on this forum, it’s literally invaluable when going through and understanding the process!
