It seems kinda suspicious to me.. did you apply for that position ? It could be different for India, but it seems like you may have been scammed.

No..... I couldn't remember... They said they got my resume from a job site in India and after going through my email they found an interest in hiring me. This morning I called up the Canadian Embassy in New Delhi and I was told there is no one by the name Mr David Scott and there is no such thing as Anti Terrorist Certificate. But all of the letters are in the letter head of the company and the Canada Embassy with signature and seal and that is why I believed them. I called Me David Scott again and he said no I'm not into fake jobs and most probably your appointment date for visa interview will be next week...

Now I'm really finding a hard time to believe. What do you think of this and what should I do? Please help me out. I tried contacting the company's official contact number which is there in their website but no one pick up the call. So I email them which I got from their website and they told me they don't know much about this and so they gave me another email id access@stantec.com and they asked me to contact them and they will be able to provide me with a confirmation. But till today I haven't recieved any reply from them..

I'm really worried.

Hi All,

My employer applied for LMIA mid May (2018) and I am still awaiting my LMIA approval. How much time does it usually take to get an approval?

NOC 1110

Appreciate your response!

My employer has been waiting for more than 3 months for an interview. Each time they check on it, they are told “ we are behind”. Thoughts?

it takes about few months for the entire process and 1st month is your employer advertising your job position and the once you get file number as i said its about 2 months that you should get your interview. when did you actually get your file number ? and them saying "we are behind" is very vague. Behind what exactly ?
Do you have an immigration consultant that is taking care or your LMIA or you are just going by what your employer said ?

I am also waiting for an interview call

It’s a pretty big position that only I can fill so I don’t it’s a scam pretty big company. I haven’t paid for anything thus far. They tried to get me exempted the first time but that was denied. So we are going through this process now. What benefits are there to knowing the file number? I’m not sure I can get an update myself as the employee.

I call different employees at the company and they all are anticipating my arrival. So it would have to be a pretty big scam for the entire company to be on board.

I see file number can give you a rough estimate as in when the immigration can call and that there is nothing wrong with your file. You may also ask your company personal to give a call to the LMIA office and ask for the updates idk if that will be any good as they do not provide you with much information. But you can always try.

How long does the file number usually take until it is issued. The company I’m going to work for is in Vancouver BC. I think each case is different and location of visa office is as a factor in turn around time.

I cant really say Evins as my consultant payed for it and i am not to sure as in when his credit card was charged and yes you are right there are many factors that may decide the processing time for your file.
If you hear anything please post in the forums and i really wish you goodluck and hope you get done with this process soon.

Hi Chetan, Many thanks for your response. The one month period where the employer advertises the job offer is done, they actually took a month and a half to complete that process. Once this was done, the Employer (a reputed global firm) applied for my LMIA in mid May with my NOC. I haven’t really gotten a LMIA case number from them, but they’ve been regularly following up with Service Canada and keep getting the response that it’ll take an average of 8 weeks. Now 8 weeks are done and they’re saying that Service Canada is facing high volumes and hence it’s taking time. My employer is still awaiting an interview from LMIA team before positive LMIA is issued. Hoping for a quick outcome. Not sure if anyone else is in the same boat. This wait is kinda agonising!

Its always feels good to help someone out specially when they are seeking for a better life and we are all working on our future to make it better. I really hope things turn positive for all of us we just have to keep working hard and wait for the right time. I really understand that waiting for this process is a bit hard as i am in the same position however believe in yourself and things will turn good soon.
