Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I have applied for September intake 2018-19, i have relevant work experience of 2 years after graduation studies, and I applied in the same field for post graduation studies, I have 6 bands in each module and (6.5 overall). I paid my fee for the first semester to the college before this SDS system came, but for some reason i didn't file my application because I received my fee slip so late from college. Here I want to to mention that my fee is higher than the normal post graduation programs as it is design program, which costs much. It's around $27000 CAD, and there are 3 semesters in this one year program. As i already made payment to the college for 1 semester and then got to know about SDS, so I had no option left at that moment, I filed under General category, because of the payment of 1 semester fee. My file is good in other ways except this fee column. I just wanna ask that does it really effect my application that I submitted only 1 sem fee? How is the success rate of general category?
Did you get a GIC? since you submitted under the Regular category, I think your application will be processed under the rules. You IELTS is good and that gives you a chance if you have a GIC

According to CIC website about SDS and General category, applicant under the General category has a minimum visa chance to the SDS that has quite a huge benefits but this is not to "say that an applicant applying under the General category won't get an approval if it meets eligibility"

Do you think that this 'FEE' factor effects the visa approval in my case, because except this, everything is good enough in my file.

As you mentioned that it is one year program consisting of 3 semester and you have paid fees for 1 semester. So it should not be a problem. Usually, they expect first year fees to be paid if it is a 2 year program. Good luck !

Hello friends,

Recently I applied Uni of New Brunswick, saint John 1 Year MBA program. Application submitted completely on 14th June, 2018 which is a day before of deadline of International application at UNB.
I am 37 years of age and have 13 years of work exp. My ielts score is 6 band (not less than 6 in any of section). Still waiting for admission confirmation from UNB but by 10th July, I may get admission confirmation (selected or rejected). Program's orientation date is 4th Sept 2018.
My queries are below mentioned?
1. As it is one year intensive MBA program and equivalent to 2 years academics. If i opt SDS entry, should i pay their full one year fees or 1 semester fees?
2. As I need to arrange fund through bank loan for tution fees and will receive loan disbursement on 20th July, 2018. In this case, should i opt SDC or regular stream to apply canada student permit?
3. In case of SDS, If i paid CDN 27000 fees to university and later on visa could not be sanctioned. In this case, will university refund full fees back to me?
4. Which is best mode to apply student visa i.e. thru online or VFS?
5. If i want to bring my family (spouse and kid age 9 yrs) with me then should i need to declare in the application? Should i deposit additional fund into GIC even if i wish to call them in the month of Jan 2019?

Your advise will be appreciated.

Thanks

Answers to your query
1. For SDS full one year fees
2. General
3. Refund will happen, but Uni may deduct some amount. Check with Uni or their website.
4. Depends. For you VFS is best.
5. Each applicant (primary and dependent) has to apply separately. Hence, it's better to have individual GIC.

Thanks Sir, for point no. 5, first i have to apply for student permit through VFC and after 4-6 months, can i easily get dependent visa for spouse and kid?

When should i have to deposit amount into GIC for spouse and kid?

Apart from, In SDS, is it required to show some bank balance even I deposited amount in GIC?

Regards

You may apply for dependent visa along with your application or afterwards when you have reached & settled there. There are many factors to this. Search this forum and you will find many threads on this.

You may obtain GIC for spouse and kid, 7-10 days before they send their application to VFS. Normally it take 5 days for bank to wire transfer the money and thereafter issue GIC.

GIC is a kind of assurance to VO that student will be able to meet day-to-day living expenses while studying. Apart from it, you need to show how are you going to fund your education. For this you need Balance Certificate and Bank Statements from bank. Since you have been working you will need to submit many other documents, such as, offer letter, salary slips, IT returns or Form16, past experience certificate, etc etc...

For point 2, it depends on how your funds is made available to you. If the funds is without restrictions and can be made available to your own account, then its possible for you to opt in for an SDS. Even though if it's not, but was/has paid your 1yr tuition fees + GIC, you can still opt in for SDS.

The only reasons I see is if you just showing the loan letter without full accessibility then its not advisable to opt in for SDS

I could not find any site to apply online for SDS visa canada. So I applied through regular visa. Will they check and divert mine to SDS visa?
