Hi everybody
I have some questions:
1. When you get email to send entry/exit, passport copies and so, is it called second review? Or in the email the word second review and delay should be mentioned?
2. After email they also send a mail and one should wait for the mail copy to be accompanied by documents or just can print email instead?
3. On the bottom it shows one should send documents within 30 days. Does it mean that they will review the documents soon as they asked for sending documents soon?
Thanks

Foremost, follow the instructions in the communications you receive.

If the communication is merely notice of what you will receive, wait to receive it. If, in contrast, the communication directs you to submit certain information or documentation, make a concerted effort to timely submit that.

Others probably have more direct personal experience with email requests and can more clearly address this. My impression is that if there is notice in eCas of a communication, wait for the substantive communication to respond. Otherwise, email is typically in lieu of paper mail, so the PR needs to respond to the email itself as if it was paper mail. In any case, however, it is what is stated in the communication YOU RECEIVED that matters. Which is to say, regardless what anyone reports they received, you need to respond according to what it says in the communication YOU RECEIVED.

If the language in the communication is not the language which you are most accustomed to using, or you are otherwise not sure what the instructions are, it would be prudent to have someone help you read and understand the instructions.

Nature of Process; Does NOT Appear to be SR:

This does NOT appear to be notice of a referral for Secondary Review. Rather, it appears to be a request for additional information and documentation for the purposes of calculating your compliance with the PR Residency Obligation.

While questions related to PR RO compliance appear to trigger many of the referrals for SR, the nature and focus of SR goes beyond the scope of assessing PR RO compliance.

In contrast, if there is a particular concern about PR RO compliance on the face of the application for a new card, IRCC will typically request additional information and documentation, and proceed to calculate compliance.

(There is a tendency in the forum to conflate what can trigger a referral to SR with what SR involves. PR RO compliance questions can indeed trigger SR but again SR tends to be about other issues. Note, for one example, among others, if IRCC has the impression the PR is residing outside Canada, that appears to also trigger SR and can lead to no action on the PRC application unless and until there is indication the PR has returned to Canada. )

Timeline:

There is no promise, no assurance, no indication even, that IRCC will promptly assess the case soon after receiving requested documents. So NO, the deadline for submitting documents does NOT mean that they will review the documents soon, or at least it does not mean that IRCC will make a decision soon. IRCC might. Might not.

Update: PR card approved but IRCC requested to pick up in person. I don't have a US visa and the problem is I already breached the residency obligation to be eligible for a travel document.

Sucks.
What do you mean? You can’t enter us or Canada.

By the way when is your pickup date?

What is your timeline

Hi
My husband also has a similar senerio,we send his application for pr renewal in april ,(he stayed 912 days in Edmonton)they sent us email on July 19..asking for entry/exit record and colored pages of all his passports and proofs of residency,we are preparing the documents but his pr card will expire in October!and he is in middle east at the moment..as he has a job there..

As to what am hearing it will take a year to get his pr renewed...which is really frustrating!

My question is that what did you write or present to ask for urgent processing?
Appreciate your answer

My timeline: Application delivered 1st Feb. AOR 17th April. Same day status changed to DM. Received email a month later (17th May) saying that my application was put in secondary review. Sent them documents (boarding passes from over sixty trips + passport stamps + CBSA report that I had extracted earlier) proving my presence in Canada. Alongside I requested urgent processing too as I had to travel for work on 30th May. Anyway, I caught my flight because I won't let IRCC compromise my job. Sent followup email before leaving asking if urgent processing was granted. They replied saying the application was flagged for urgent processing. Card delivered to home address in Calgary on 7th June. Asked my dad to mail it to me to Abu Dhabi. Went to the FedEX office just now to pick it up.

Thank God what a relief![/QUOTE
Finally my PR card renewal application is complete. Here’s my timeline. Had 1200+ days.
  1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on July 13, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on September 8, 2017.
  3. We started processing your application on September 8, 2017.
  4. We sent you correspondence on September 8, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
  5. Your Permanent Resident card was sent by mail on May 31, 2018.

I did not request urgent processing as there was no reason I could provide. Just submitted the documents they requested and waited for 11 months. However I had US visa so I planned all my travel via US during that time and crossed into Canada by my private car. That is the best option in my view instead of PRTD from Middle East.

Thanks for clarifying,i have a question,So if my husband has a valid USA visa he can travel from middle east to USA,then from USA enter Canada even though his prc is expired?will they let him in in the border?my knowledge about it is really humble

Yes, be prepared to tell them how long he's been outside Canada.

Yes, I have crossed with only my expired PRC several times. Only thing is it takes a while, like 15-20 minutes, sometimes for them to verify, I guess.

Dear Experts and all respected members,

I have received an email from CIC requesting additional documents (Passports copy, entry/exit movement from all countries I travelled or resided and any supporting documents for my physical presence in Canada.

- For the passport copy I will obtain and official translation to send it.

- For the supporting documents I will prepare all i can e.g: bills, doctors notes, lease contract, bank and credit card statements, tax notices.

_ For the exit/entry its really hard and I don't know what to do because I have visited or resided in a lot of countries in the past 5 years namely: UAE, Turkey, Jordan, Netherland, Qatar, Germany, France, Spain, Tanzania, UK, Austria, Oman and USA.

MY QUESTIONS:

1- As you can see I have travelled to 13 countries (all of them before i settled in canada), I don't know how to get and I think it is very hard to get the exit/entries or movements from all these countries, so can you PLEASE tell me any advise me what to do ??. PLEASE note that my passport is showing all corresponding entry/exit stamps for all these destinations.

2- Is there any other suggestions with regards to the supporting documents other than what I mentioned above??

I am frustrated and and helpless, your help and advice will be highly appreciated..

I would first make an effort from the countries you have resided (not visited). You should be able to provide the entry and exit records from European countries and USA.

For USA, had to do it myself and the process takes 6-8 weeks if not longer. For middle east follow the process, if any to get the records even if that means writing the letter etc.

Once you have records from few countries, you can send a letter to IRCC to prove you made a genuine effort to comply with the request and attach copy of entry/exit records from whatever countries you were able to get records along with a proof that you made a genuine effort to comply with their request. . Ignoring is not an option.

Hi Everyone,

A newbie here. I'm applying for PRC renewal and have been living here for almost 2.5 years. Just wondering what documents should I sent with the PRC renewal application to avoid delays/secondary review etc? Thanks
