I have a different scenario here.
My landing date is 4 April 2018. I got photo request on 22 April. However, i had left Canada before the photo request but since i knew there can be this situation that new photo requests might come, i got the pictures clicked during my stay and the date on them is 15 April.
My question is that is it a problem if the date on the photo is before the date on which i received the request?

No as long as the photos are taken within the last 6 months of the request, you'll be fine.
Has anyone received updates regarding acceptance/ rejection of resubmitted photos delivered around the end of April or start of May?
No problem at all, I also left my son's photograph in canada. I got photo request for him and my friend sent it to CIC and it is approved now. So as long as it is taken within 6 months, it is fine.
Don't you have the physical email that they would send to your Canadian mailing address? Mails are better than emails. other options is to call CIC and tell them your email has changed and request them to send to your email id. No need to pay those extra bucks to those people.

Greetings! I am in a bit of a situation regarding my PR Card application. Here are the sequence of events:
- 22nd Jan: I completed my landing formalities in Toronto and submitted my application for PR Card the same day.
- 7th Mar: I got a letter from CIC for updated photographs, the address given was: CASE PROCESSING CENTER - PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD, PO BOX 4500 SYDNEY NS B1P 6L1
- Based on the updates on this forum and given that neither Fedex or DHL were accepting any address without any Street Name, I sent the updated photographs to: CASE PROCESSING CENTER - PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD 49 DORCHESTER STREET SYDNEY NS B1P 5X2
- 25th Mar: The updated photographs were received at the delivered address
- 14th May: I raised a query regarding the status of the PR Card application and updated photographs
- 22nd May: I received an update from CE CSE that the photographs have not been updated in the system yet
My PR Card application status continues to be In-Progress and no update is available even though its been 4 months since I completed the landing formalities and 2 months since my updated photographs were delivered to the address.
I am not sure how to proceed. Is the address I delivered to correct (If not, what the correct address) and did I do anything wrong in the process? I would appreciate it if you could suggest me anything. I am out of Canada at present.

Hi I too am in the same situation. I landed on 25th Jan and received new photos request on 7th March. I sent my photos to the same courier address which you have mentioned above and the photos got delivered on 15th March. My wife's application got approved and she received her card on 6 April, but my application was put on hold without any information. Finally on 1st may I received a new photo request and I again sent the photos and it got delivered on 11th may. I have been waiting since. I am in deep need of my card as I have some very critical travel plans in 3-4 weeks time...I called up their number...but that's of no help.
Your case is very similar to mine. So, to confirm: The address: 9 DORCHESTER STREET SYDNEY NS B1P 5X2 is correct, since your wife's PR Card went through? Please confirm.
I too am confused what to do next. Maybe they haven't accepted my updated photos, but they haven't said anything either.
My suggestion for you would be to give it another week and then go for a PRTD (Travel Document) if you have travel plans in 3-4 weeks. Are you in India currently?

Today I called cic. First they told me that they are processing photo received before 17the april. Then I ask them to see my application for any update by providing them my UCI ..then they said your photo are good and application is in process and it take two weeks to receive pr card. And my photos was submitted on 27th april.
According to me they didnt have proper information regarding the photo update processing.

Photo request - May 14 ( By email for Myself and Spouse) Our son's photo request didn't come initially by email but later as a regular post. To be on safer side, I sent photos for entire family.
Issue - As we received regular post for Son's photo request after sending photos back to NS address. Our mail response is missing the form for Son's photo request but we included the letters for ourselves (one received as email).
Please advise do i need to resend photos with the form? Is it mandatory to send the form along with photos?
