Landing: Jan 13th (YVR Airport)
New photographs request:Feb 21st
Photographs Delivered: Feb 28th

I have no update till now. Anybody in the same boat? I see people who landed in February getting approvals. Please advise. I called CIC few days ago and they had the standard reply : " We are currently processing photos sent on 16th Feb"

Your case is different as you had a request for new photographs- add another 3 weeks to the total time.

Hi everyone, first and foremost I'd like to thank everyone in the community to make this website such an enormous data bank for all the little things you need to know of you wish to make Canada your home.

I got approved and landed on March 22, 2018 with my wife. The thing I'm waiting on is the PR card. I did not provide an address when the VO asked for one - biggest mistake- as the address notification tool doesn't work. I filled out the web form on 03/27 and also faxed them the form provided to me by the VO on 03/29 just to be completely sure. As of rn, I'm unable to link my PR card application to my account as it won't recognize my details (tried a lot with all the options). What would be the best course of action in this scenario? Normally it'd be ok, but my mother in law is in the hospital and I'd like to visit her back in India but me and my wife don't have the PR card or any update on it. I know PRTD is an option but I'd prefer the PR card than PRTD. Any advise will be appreciated. :)

It will take anywhere from 60-90 days, 60 if the photos are accepted whilst 90 if not. Another option is to enter via the US landborder on a private vehicle(heard Ubers also work). This is your best resort prior to the PRTD.

Thanks! I am aware of the processing times but it's the lack of any updates that makes me question whether they received my address or not. But thank you for the the quick reply. I'm fairly confident that the photos provided will be accepted. :)

You can call them and they will let you know the address that is updated in their system.I changed my address some days after landing through ircc webform.Confirmed my address with them via telephone after some days and my new address was updated in their system.

Is the same 1 888 242 2100 number? I tried that but couldn't get in contact with anyone. I wasn't even put on hold, automated voice just told me that I couldn't be put on hold because of large number of calls. If there's another number please let me know.

Hello. How did they contact you to request you for your photos? Did they email you or sent you a post?

Hello Everyone.

Landed Feb 28, linked my PR Card application about two weeks post landing. Checked mycic yesterday and realized that my PR card status had just changed to approved from submitted

Does anyone have any idea what the implication is.... does it mean the cards may have already been dispatched?

Your response from experience will be appreciated.

Have a good one.

Cheers.

Thanks

Follow the steps below....i used same......however people ho have tried it after i did were not successful. try it anyways.

PR Card

Follow below steps only after you have landed. It gives only 5 attempts in one day.

1) Login to CIC account.
2) Go to section "Link an existing application to this account". Click on "Link application to this account" button.
3) Select category as PR Card
4) Select "Unique Client Identifier (UCI) and Family Name"
5) Fill required details (please make sure capital, small, comma etc.)
6) Provide landing date in "Date you became a permanent resident"
7) Click on search my application.
8) after application searched make sure you submit application else not linked.

However, for some people linking becomes impossible. This is primarily because people put their birth city not as per what is written in your passport. Birth city has to match exactly as in Passport including punctuation marks if any.

One you have successfully linked your application it will shown you as "Submited" status and once it is ready for dispatch it will go into "Approved" status.

If you receive any photo request then it will not change any status. Regularly check PR card processing time on CIC website as photo request or PR card approval both come in last 5-10 days (i.e if processing time is 63 days then after 55 days you will be able to see some movement.)

Thank you for your information. I have try this way five times today, but not successful.
Always give me the "no match application information". I am sure the city of birth is right, even the letter format.

I wonder the same thing, Does the approval of PR Card in mycic means the card is printed and dispatched?

Thank you

Card printing and dispatching comes after "Approval", you can call CIC and find out when it is dispatched if you like. By the way, whats your landing city. I landed on 20th and waiting for an update but there is none yet. Wondering if processing time varies from a landing city to another !!
