Was she already selected in the 2018 Lottery?

If not she needs to wait now until January 2019. As long as she has last 1 year meeting Quebec income requirements, she can apply to the lottery.

Hi All,

My mother in law was selected for 2018 lottery, however I have concern. We arrived here in Canada last October 2016 and we cannot provide the 3 year income. 2016 tax report will not be enough for the requirement however the 2017 tax report can show that the income earning is enough to sponsor my mother in law.

I got a a more stable job last year and income wise is qualified to sponsor a parent, these without adding the income of my wife.

Is there a chance that they will process the application where we could only show 2016 and 2017 income?

Thank you for your help.
The straight answer is NO , Noone is eligible by any mean if you cannot provide proof of last 3 years income.

Considering the Number of Applicants who posted in this group and are selected to apply but do not have eligibility , There will be a second draw for sure , as there must be thousands of another applicants with similar scenarios who are not even aware of this forum.

Here is a simple question but it has been bothering me. FYI I plan to apply next year so I have not wasted any spots this time around.

If there are 3 people I want to sponsor over time (2 parents and 1 grandparent) and I am single right now, can I sponsor them in two batches? Family size 3 in the first try in 2019 (due to income requirements) and then family size 4 in 2020 or 2021 as my income falls in line for family size of 4? We are assuming that i will continue to be single till then.

Secondly if I may have sponsored my parents for a super visa, do they count as double when I apply for my parents for PGP sponsorship? Or is it totally different and the family unit will continue to count as 3 even for PGP.

Thanks in advance.

Isn't it shocking how despite CIC changing the interest to sponsor form to include the LICO amounts and years required there are still so many who completely ignored it and falsely declared "yes"?

It really wastes time for everyone. CIC's manpower and opportunity cost for families and their parents when people are so irresponsible. There should be better screening or punitive actions put into place.

I really do not think it would be too much for CIC to implement a system where if you have been selected to sponsor and your LICO income does not meet requirements but you still declared yes, then you should be barred from entering the lottery for another 2 years. It will make people read properly, and if not, then stall these people back for 2 years giving more chance to those who do meet requirements to get selected in the next 2 years.

Face it, those who don't qualify are probably going to throw their hat into the pot again for the 2nd round (if it happens) or next year.

For sure there must be a way and its very easy to implement at least they can start with this. People will only care and read the instructions and eligibility seriously only when some money is involved . Lets say CIC comes with that u have to pay 300-400 upfront fees to apply. Now if you are not selected you will get back fees , but if you are selected and do not apply you wont get it back , and the ones who apply and met the eligibility criteria the fees they pay when application is sent should be reduced by the amount they already paid above.

I think we have discussed the money issue before and it is a big source of unhappiness as it favors the wealthy etc.

I think it is fair that if one makes a false declaration then they should be penalized in some way.

Right there should be something. I was eligible last year as well but I went step ahead and verified the forms and saw forms need the income for last 4 years at that time , you cannot state the recent last year , So I did not apply as I did not want to waste someones chance. But I was unlucky soon after the draw close cic changed the forms stupidly and then they start considering recent 3 years.

No you don't qualify. If you submit an app it will be rejected.
Why did you not bother to read the rules before you applied, or think for some reason they wouldn't apply to you? Congrats on taking away a lottery spot from someone who may have qualified but wasn't selected.

I don't think it's mandatory to include grandparents in the app, so they should be able to be excluded from family size. Theoretically you can then enter a future lottery to sponsor a grandparent. Not entirely sure on this though.

A supervisa is a completely separate process, and has no effect whatsoever on potential PR sponsorship app.
