They will definitely ask for the FBI clearance and Police Report
My husband didn’t stay In Maryland for even a week and they still ask him for Police report
So it better for you to stay in Nigeria till u receive ur PPR because the stress you will go through when you live somewhere other than Nigeria is much!!
I’m talking to you from experience
Please just don’t try to leave now it will complicate ur application
@peg204, have you gotten your FBI report now? It should be over two months you requested for it.

Thanks for your response and advice @peg204 but as it is, my application is already as complicated as it gets seeing as there will soon be a baby in this whole equation (I’m due very soon and I don’t see Accra speeding things up before my baby comes/before I’m no longer fit to fly any airline) so I’ll just have to focus on what’s really important now - which is getting to the USA for the birth of my child before I’m no longer fit to fly any airline - and cross those other bridges of FBI Clearance/additional family information when I get there. Lol. It’s unfortunate that all these could have been avoided if Accra VO was competent but it’s what it is and I refuse to allow AVO give me hypertension. Thanks again!

P.s Has your husband gotten his FBI Clearance now?

Definitely, you would have to wait more, cos adding a baby takes like three months, baby would do medicals, so just enjoy the moment.
All this would be handled by AVO, before they transfer your file, immediately you have your baby, just notify them to reduce the wait time.

No wonder someone called Africa shithole. Anything west Africa is a pain. Imagine not having an update to application for almost 10 months. What manner of fuckery is that!!! Pardon my language but I am frustrated, beyond balk right now!!
What irks me? you cant even make a big plan because you have no idea what or when thIS POS office will get in touch.
I just sent a 'to whom it may concern' to them, pretty tough with words and at this point I don't give a rats ass if they decide to decline because of it.
what is supposed to be a family unification has inadvertently turned into a nightmare , putting AVOIDABLE strain on the relationship that Is supposed to be solidified through this process.
imagine someone having to start making plans for USA to birth when it could easily be avoided. Hell I wanna know how they sleep at night, those swine in that shithole office. TBH I am not gonna be excited even when the PPR comes, they have succeeded in squashing that euphoria, its only gonna be a 'glad I'm done with them' feeling left.
Done ranting o_O:mad::)

I discovered AVO hasn't even touched any March Application on this forum.

Senaghana, who received his PPR Last December, is technically a February applicant, going through his posts, he applied late February, and got AOR March 10.

I don't have a problem being a shithole citizen, I have a problem with the terrible Canadians, who are being paid heavily, and do nothing in AVO, this crazy people get diplomatic status, live in the best places, and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

At times, I regret that my application is in Ghana, apologies to other west African citizens, but if our files were treated in Nigeria, the attention of the high commissioner Would have been sought, South Africa, UK and USA tried it in time past, but the Nigerian government intervened, and things are normal.
The terrible attitude of AVO to Nigerians made the Nigerians petition this AVO In 2015, and express entry and permanent resident applications from Nigeria stopped being treated in AVO, it was a really depressing situation then.
However, spousal sponsorship is a minority, so they do as they please.

Most marriages are young, and some are heading to break ups, cos of crazy differences due to living apart.

PPR at this point would not make most of us excited, cos we are tired, we just want to be done with this horrendous and depressing process.

Thank you! I’ll choose to enjoy the moment. Definitely will be reaching out soon ‘cos I’ll need steps on what to do once baby is here. Been going through different fora and so many different opinions have been stated. Kinda confusing. Lol. But I won’t bother myself with that for now.

Yes, you can land anywhere as a permanent resident, irrespective of what is on your COPR landing form.

Stay strong my dear. I am so frustrated too. Our application reached 12 months on 24th January and we still don't have any response from AVO. Yesterday I left my husband one more time with no idea when we will be together. It is very difficult. Once we got a response I will surely sign a petition and try to share my experiment publicly to let everybody know that what Justin Trudeau is saying on TV is fare away from what we are experienced in really life. It is a service, we paid for that. It is not supposed to be a favor or a gift from them. We should do something to make this steps easier for next people who will have to support the indifference and silence of AVO. Can you imagine 12months with no word, any idea about what is going on with your application. 12months with no big plan!

Still searching for answers! Do you know if the delay between the marriage date and the application date may explain why AVO something hold on propice some applications? I mean, in my case I got married on 29th December and send my application on 20th January and they receive it on 24th January. So we applied just 3 weeks after the wedding. Do you think that this can explain why they hold our application with no new since then? People who got Visa in less than 12 monts what is the delay between your marriage and application date? Same question for those whom's application was processed in more than 12 months. This may help next applicants if my assumptions come true. Thank you for your answers and good luck to everyone.
