Guys!
To those that have already landed, did you guys apply for a PR card or was it sent to you automatically?

I read that you do not need to apply but have also read that some people have applied.

Pls help me out, I want to be clear on this. Thanks

When we landed they told us we’d receive the PR card in 6-8 weeks; we didn’t have to apply.

Great info, thanks!
When have folks been requesting GCMS notes with Mexico VO? I know you have done it multiple times so I guess I should ask when the first time was? About 6 months from receipt of application to CPC Mississauga?

I applied for our first set of notes in June (only 5 months after we submitted the application), because we were wondering whether they wanted the RCMP fingerprint report. It turned out to be a good move. I am not sure that if we did not order the notes and asked for the request that they would have eventually sent us the request on their own or not and if they were going to, there was no telling when they would have sent it.

In our case, I think it was a good time to request them. (Nothing had been started yet ... except our criminality check, which apparently was started in February and last we heard, was still not complete; I don't know why because my partner has a clear record and only really lived in Chile and Canada, which we have provided police reports that state this). Otherwise, I think waiting 2 or 3 months after your app has been opened is normally a good time to order notes, from what I have seen happening with processing with this VO.

We just ordered our 4th set of notes because we are in queue for an interview. We pretty much ordered notes every 2 months to see the progress on our app as nothing had been updated on our GCKey account since the beginning of March.

How long did you wait for your noted ? We have been waiting 90 days now! :(

The longest we waited for our notes was 36 days one time. If it has been 90 days, I would definitely file a complaint (I think you can find the email somewhere in ATIP website. You can also try emailing first at ATIP-APRP@cic.gc.ca to do a status enquiry. Good luck and hopefully you will get your notes soon!

Hello everyone, quick question, does the police certificate need to be translated, one from the dominican republic. Thanks.

Yes we applied for our notes on Sept 18th. Status enquiry on October 25th. They replied on Nov 20th saying our file is "priority" and our info will be passed along shortly. Almost a month later and nothing. I will try and file a complaint snd email the ATIP again. It has been way too long. Than you for your advice!!

Hello all, our application was received on Feb 15, 2017. The AOR was on Oct 5, 2017 and Invitation to Pre-arrival services on Nov 23, 2017. Our VO is Mexico. In the Background Check section we still have: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check. Does anyone have any idea as to how long does it take to get a DM, PPR or COPR once you have received the Invitation to Pre-arrival services letter?

Thank you so much for the feedback...

Does anyone know if we have to fill out anything for items my hubby is bringing with him. He is just bringing his clothes, shoes, phone etc. Just personal use items. And nothing coming after. I'm so confused if we have to do anything. I was reading about people filling out all these papers and forms and stuff.

About that, I'm following this thread.

Some people said they didn't do this and went through fine.

I was reading this yesterday and it made me so confused! Lol
I think we will probably just not do anything since it seems they only focus on what's coming after. I'll just peep him in case they ask.
I'm hoping he won't have any delays with immigration as he just has 2.5 hours before his connecting flight.

Hey Guys, background check status changed to " We are processing your background check" , is that good news, anybody with similar situation/?

We are in a similar situation, but we are Sept 1 applicants so pretty sure it's insignificant in our case. I don't know how much it means. Other more senior folks on this forum have had theirs in process for several months with little else... I guess it depends where, exactly, you are in the process. If you are quite far down the road, then it could be good news. @majesty and @starnaenae could weigh in on this.
