It might be little late to activate this thread. But wanted to let you know about my case.
1) My EE Profile status was in Med Passed.
2) Got an email from CPC-Ottawa - Ready for Visa
3) Submitted my passports at Visa office (thru VFS) for stamping
4) The day when passports were released after stamping, my application got updated with counterfoil receipts.

Now what next. How will I get CoPR? Seniors pls help
Wait for your passport, you'll get 2 Copies of CoPR along with your passport. 1 of them is the CIC's copy, the other is going to be yours. Don't sign it until you are told so at the border by an agent.

Thanks! I received the same as you said. 2 copies of CoPR. Also, there is no photograph on my visa on my passport. Is it normal?

Hello,
I have been living in canada for several years and I applied from here. My PR was recently approved. Are you saying after I receive the counterfoil I have to leave canada and enter again in order to activate my coPR?
The "counterfoil" is simply a travel visa that allows you to board a plane to Canada (for citizens of countries who need visas to visit Canada). You do not have PR status until you complete your "landing" and have your COPR validated by a visa officer.

Presently there are 3 ways to do this:
1) Leave Canada and complete your landing at a point of entry when you return. If you fly, you will need that counterfoil visa to return to Canada. You can also land at the border by traveling to the USA and back, or by "flagpoling". There are many threads on flagpoling, you can search that, no need to repeat that here.

2) Make an appointment at an inland office to land. Unless you live in one of the major cities that has one of these offices, you will still have to travel.

3) There is a pilot project to do this by telephone. You don't get to chose this, however - it is by invitation only.

Hi
We got visa valid until November 2018. Out medical expiring on February 6,2018. Do we need to complete landing before medical expiry or the expiry of COPR?

I'd suggest submitting a request on the following link. You should get a response within 10 business days. I submitted a query on Mar 9th and got a confirmation on Mar 14th, 2018.

Hello team,

This conversation is very helpful. Thank you very much. Yesterday, I received an update on my CIC application that "Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details". However, there was no message in inbox. I have already sent my passport to Ottawa office. Therefore, I am expecting it to be returned with 2 COPR copies in couple of days.

My questions is: I have recently received a immigrant visa for US as well. Therefore, I need to enter in US along with my family (as I was dependent in the US application - but that is a different scenario). I am planning to return back to India in few days, enter in US with family and then arrive back to Canada to complete the flagpole procedure at Canada border for confirmation of PR. When I return back at the border, I may not have any WP status in Canada (as I am going to leave my job before I go to India - and I am on a close WP currently.).

Will that (not having any WP status in Canada) cause any problem while I am returning back to Canada for the confirmation of my PR??

My assumption is that WP should not matter after you receive the Canada Immigrant visa stamp on passport. But that is just an assumption.
Thank you in advance for your time.
