Share your WES timelines for 2017

Hi all,

I'm a new member to the forum. I have just been reading all the various threads and information posted here, but haven't really shared anything. But now I am at a stage where I can, and actually bust a few myths with regard to statement of marks being sent to WES from Mumbai University.

I did two undergraduate courses.
1) Bachelor of Mass Media - Jai Hind College, Mumbai University
2) Bachelor of Arts, major in Political Science, IGNOU

I gave my IELTS exams on August 19th and got my scores on September 2nd. Meanwhile, I started with my WES procedure on August 30th. Here's the process I went through:
1) I already had a set of sealed copies of my transcripts from Jai Hind College and IGNOU. So after creating my WES Profile and getting a Reference number, I simply couriered it the very next day. (Documents included sealed transcripts and photocopies of degree certificate)
2) I was not sure if attested copies of Mumbai University was required since my degree particularly (unlike BE, B.Com or BA) was unaided and run by my college. Hence I trusted my gut to see what happens next.
3) On September 7th, I got a status update from WES saying both my degree certificates and IGNOU transcripts were accepted. But my Jai Hind College transcripts were rejected because, I needed attestation from Mumbai University
4) All the forums here and on Quora scared the shit out of me, when people explained how the University easily takes two months to process your documents. I work in Chennai and catching flights to and fro Mumbai wasn't easy.
5) People need to understand one clear simple difference here. WES requires "attestation of Mumbai University" on photocopies of originals sealed in an envelope. Attestation is nothing but a stamping procedure. It does not mean asking Mumbai University to create a new set of transcripts or documents for you (which actually takes a month, so don't fall for this!)
6) The Student Welfare Division which is a branch office of Mumbai University next to Sydenham college, B Road, Churchgate solely does the attestation work. A lot of people online did spread rumors about how this place does not do attestation, how one definitely has to only go to Kalina, or how this office takes 25 working days minimum. ALL FALSE, let me say! I took a morning flight from Chennai, landed Mumbai by 10 am, reached this office by 11 am, filled up the form for attestation, showed my originals along with two sets of photocopies, gave them an envelope with WES address, paid Rs 39 as fees (Rs 5 per page + Rs 4 to process) and got my attested, signed and sealed copy of marksheets by 1 pm the same day. I flew back that same night.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS YOU SHOULD CARRY:
> All original marksheets, semester-wise + degree certificate
> You don't need transcripts. WES clearly states that attested copies of photocopies of marksheets are sufficient, last 2 semesters (or final year) compulsorily being attested by MU.
> Carry three blank A-3 size envelopes
> Only write WES Canada address, without your address (from..), in one of them.
> Fill in the form for attestation they give you and pay fees
> Collect the documents same day and courier to WES

HI u need to get the transcipts in a sealed envelope , as this is the requirement to verify the authenticity of documents. Usually many universities send the transcripts directly to WES, but in india u get it hand delivered or couriered to your door step BUT in a sealed envelope with stamp or signature across seal....so get the transcripts as required by them and send them in reference to existing reference no

Anyone here had any experience with unis having changed their names after you completed your degree? My degree certificate from 2012 has the old name, which matches the one listed on WES.

However, the name changed in 2014 so the transcript has the new name, although it clearly states "Formerly known as <<old name>>" everywhere on the document where the new name appears.

I'm hoping it shouldn't cause a problem for WES: but does anyone have experience with something like this?

On the same page, it says:

Pending
Evaluation in Progress

Your evaluation is in progress. You are not required to do anything at this time.


Does it mean that the evaluation is not started yet? Or should i start counting 20 working days from the date it first showed "we received your documents" message?

I have receive an update from WES that they required my provisional certificate . my "Statement of Marks" has been accepted. but need my provisional too. I just mailed them through courier. Are they going to start the document review process again for my Provisional as well and how long it take to complete the whole process

and My timelines are:

Documents received by WES: 1st, Sep
Review in progress: 06th, Sep
Requested for Provisional: 11th, Sep

it takes them approx 20 days after receiving all the documents. the status accepted means that the documents is in the format that wes wanted it. so for now they have not started your evaluation. once they receive your courier, they will begin evaluation on all documents together.

if anyone can share their experience with WES with regards to below status on WES account and its meaning and what they did , I have contacted WES but yet to get a response over email ..

2. Statement of Marks, Bachelor of Engineering.

Reason: The document received was not attested by the institution responsible for conducting the examinations (e.g. university, constituent or autonomous college).

Instructions: Please resubmit the academic document according to the document requirements stated under University Education for India.

My college is/was autonomous and conducted own exams as well, the transcripts were obtained from the university by clear transcripts team
. I think I have to obtain my transcripts from college rather than the university.

How many days I have to re submit my documents to WES, Interestingly WES accepted my Degree certificate which was also given by the university.
all the documents were in the sealed envelope and sent as it is from me to WES.

there is no timeline as to by when you need to re-submit the docs. you can take your own time but note that wes wont start your evaluation unless all your documents are received. now regarding the statement of marks, these need to be attested by the college not university. again the number of years differ. for eg: incase of BCOM , FY and SY are required to be attested by college, TY is required to be attested by univ

i think incase of engineering its FY and last year is to be attested by Univ, while SY & TY are to be by college. this is very clearly mentioned in the required documents. should also be specified in the email you've received from them above. follow their instructions to the letter or they reject it,

Evaluation has not started. The stats are as thus

1. On hold, waiting for docs
2. Docs received review in progress
3. On hold, Waiting for docs (this is if only partial docs were accepted and they need something more from you) OR 3a. Docs accepted evaluation in progress (if all docs are ok.) once this status shows, the 21 days begin.

If you send a second set of docs, the status will begin from step 1.

It will also show in your account the expected evaluation complete date once all docs are accepted

The educations i am getting evaluated are from recognized institutions and WES and those institutes exchange thousands of mails every year so i am really not expecting any partial documentation issue in my case (i really hope so). I thought it will be merely a month process but it's getting on my nerves now

The educations i am getting evaluated are from recognized institutions and WES and those institutes exchange thousands of mails every year so i am really not expecting any partial documentation issue in my case (i really hope so). I thought it will be merely a month process but it's getting on my nerves now

I used the +1 416-972-0070 number which is up on Google and their website. However, be warned that the wait time at 9 AM (Toronto time, 6 PM IST or thereabouts) was about 15 to 20 minutes; without fail. I've found if I hang onto the line like a leech, eventually someone does take the call.

So now waiting until the end of this month, unless they somehow manage to finish it earlier. Actually, has anyone ever gotten it completed before the WES cited completion date? I'm guessing not but just asking to make sure.

EDIT:
Also found it interesting that in their new update for the new application form, they have added a field to mention the actual name on your certification. Would have liked to have that option on my form earlier, but it looks like it will be for new applicants or those who are in an earlier stage of their ECA application as I don't have the Modify option anymore.

They sent my report on 5 the working day after receiving all documents

Today I called them, after 45 min of waiting I got a chance to speak with the WES Representative. She said that It takes 3 to 7 working days usually to update the information after they received the courier or a fax. Then they will review it after that they will evaluate it then they will post the result.. by the time I'll loose 2 CIC draws

Don't worry. It took long time to have my status updated too. This is my timeline:
Application submitted and payment made: 16 August
Institution 1 Documents delivered: 21 August
Institution 2 Documents delivered: 21 August
Status: We received your document(s). We are reviewing your document(s): 24 August
Status didn't change for a long time, so I sent them an email (after waiting for about 9 days)
Status: We are reviewing your evaluation report. Your evaluation is due for completion on 9/26/2017: 6 September

My husband's timeline:
Application submitted and payment made: 16 August
Institution 1 Documents delivered: 28 August
Status: We received your document(s). We are reviewing your document(s): 31 August
Status: We are reviewing your evaluation report. Your evaluation is due for completion on 10/4/2017: 14 September[/QUOT

My WES Timeline: (2 degrees to be assessed from 2 different universities in the UK)

1. Application created and got reference number (July 31)
2. Transcript sent from university no 1 (August 1) - Accepted Aug 22
3. Transcript sent from university no 2 (August 7) - Accepted Aug 18
4. Review in progress (with "You are not required to do anything at this time") on Aug 22
5. Back to "Waiting for required documents" on Aug 27 (Final degrees were not received at this time)
6. Final degrees received, reviewed and accepted => Evaluation in progress (Aug 29)
7. Final Review: Sept 2
8. Evaluation is due for completion on Sept 19

I was hoping for the report to be ready just a few days after the Final Review, however it seems like it's not the case here. Hopefully I can make it for the next draw. Last draw was low and I need ECA report to apply with 475 points.

Have u received your report? Same is the completion date for my spouse's WES report, but we haven't received anything yet.

Although tentative completion date is listed as 6th October. Does anyone know how many days it takes to get report after your status changes to 'reviewing your evaluation report'?

Have u received your report? Same is the completion date for my spouse's WES report, but we haven't received anything yet.

Received today, created my application on CIC Express Entry, waiting for the next draw now.
