dear @legalfalcon
Is it allowed to change the company name post ITA.:(

I had listed my work experience giving old name of the company, however the experience reference letter is issued in the new name.

I joined abc ltd and worked in noc 6235 for 1 year
company promoted me to noc 1211 after 1 year and continued for 2 years...during the period company changed name to xyz ltd

Now they have issued a consolidated experience letter on the letterhead of xyz ltd mentioning both my roles /period /duties / pay /work hours etc.

but I had created my work history mentioning abc ltd for 1 year & xyz ltd for 2 years....
Now is it okay to change company name in the work history to xyz ltd as it will conform to the reference letter...:(...
I received ita on 12th July and is very confused...I wrote to company hr to reissue a letter mentioning the name change of the company but I am afraid they will refuse & even if they issue,it may lead further confusion with cic ...
If I'm allowed to edit the company name and nothing else,it will be sorted out...
I don't want to decline an ita & create a new profile as it will lose someone else a chance....
Please advise .....:(

There is nothing to worry, you can change the name post ITA and explain it in LoE.

Hi legalfalcon,

We're having a tough time here with common-law Philippines police certificate that we just received and doesn't comply with IRCC request (no fingerprint and dry seal).

Would you mind having a look at the thread I created? Perhaps you have encountered this situation before. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-im...overseas-police-cert-with-fingerprint.509237/

If not that's fine - thanks for all the work done so far.

No need to worry about it. Just do what you already know:

So we went back to the Philippines Embassy and apparently, they are not allowed to put the fingerprint on the document. Only solution we were given: write an affidavit explaining why we can't have a fingerprint on the police cert, get it notarized at the Embassy, get a fingerprint on a separate piece of paper and submit all this with the police certificate we have (not having the fingerprint/seal).

Also explain this in LoE.

@legalfalcon
Thank you.
FYI, apparently we CAN make changes to the forms post PDC.

I clicked continue to get the PDC --> realised I misunderstood 'Representative Details' form --> logged out --> logged in again --> updated the form with "No" for representative --> continue --> the new PDC did not ask to upload a representative form. The earlier one did.

Cheers!

Awesome, I have not logged in to MyCIC in a while. That is why I answered, maybe and most likely. But thanks for letting me know.

Yes, since you will mentioning your address in the other city, and if your country does not provide a country wide PCC, like the FBI PCC, you will need a PCC from that specific city.
Very well. I'll do so. Thanks a lot!

I made some changes too (I moved my spouse's work history to personal history) and the system generated a fresh document checklist minus the placeholders for reference letters. What a relief!

Dear legalfalcon

I really like your posts in the forum. I am asking for your valuable suggestion on the following scenario.

My timeline:

AoR: 16.03.17 (RPRF and Medical Done Upfront)
Schedule A submitted: 14.05.17
Medical Passed: 25.05.17
Background Check: NA - Since 25.05.17

137 days since AoR. BG is still NA since 25 May (More than 60 days).

What is the possibility of refusal at this stage?

Can I order GCMS notes even if I didn't have any representative? (Applied alone)

Should I send an email to CIC at
CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

Any suggestion?

thank you legalfalcon for the reply...relieved to know that i can change the name...

however,i'm worried if i write an LoE,will i be required to submit additional proof towards the company name change..?

do you feel it will amount to misstatement if i edit the work history section with the new names and proceed without writing an LOE...? Will cic be checking with the ee profile data &the data at eAPR ....?
---
I am trying to get a 'Name Change ' certificate the company may have filed with the Ministry of Corporate affairs...if i get that,i can write an LOE and attach the same..

Hello Legal falcon, if I am in holiday in another country for 5 months, do I need to write the address or leave it as my home country address

@legalfalcon I have a question about PCC so I left home country back in 2013 and last visited 6/2017 and now I am confused about the dates that should be included on My PCC? I currently reside in the US so what should my home PCC dates be like?

Thanks

The application goes through different stages and at what stage your application is at will determine the chances of rejection.
Most likely you have crossed R10, or the completeness check. Your application should now be on the Eligibility stage. If you cross the eligibility, the chances of rejection are next to zero.

To read more on the different stages you can read my authored post at - https://www.getgcms.com/blog/express-entry-application-processed/

Yes, you can order GCMS notes irrespective of whether you have an agent or not. All you need is an application number.

To order notes log on to - https://www.getgcms.com

To read on how notes look like see my post - https://www.getgcms.com/blog/gcms-notes-look-like-order/

My initiated thread will also be helpful - https://goo.gl/6C1RMI

You can definitely send email and call, but the information given is limited to which office your application is at that the application is progressing.

Hope this helps!

You don't need the certificate of change, all you need is a LoE stating that the name of the company changed from x to y. After entering into the pool, your application details have to be similar to what you claimed, which in your case is except the name of the company.

A simple LoE will be sufficient and in your job reference letter you can get the same written from your company too.

Hello Legal falcon, if I am in holiday in another country for 5 months, do I need to write the address or leave it as my home country address

If you are out for a holiday there is no need to update IRCC. Only when you have a change of job or move address do you need to inform.

That will depend on which country you are seeking the PCC from. Most countries do not write dates, but just state that as of 7/2017 there are no criminal record against xyz.

There are a couple of factors you need to keep in mind. If you get your visa and CoPR in Canada, you will have a limited window to land in Canada as a PR. Once you land in Canada as a PR, you will then need to sponsor your spouse.

However, at anytime before you land as a PR you can add your spouse to the application. Read this for more details:

https://www.getgcms.com/blog/add-family-member-express-entry-application/

You can only add your spouse to your application after getting married. You will need the PCC, medical, marriage certificate and forms as required by IRCC. It will take some time for IRCC to go through the Medicals and security for your spouse. Keep that in mind.

If you get a CoPR in Canada and request to add your spouse, and if you would like to return to Canada, that may pose an issue as you will have an immigrant visa.

Here, timing is everything.

Thanks legal falcon but regarding copr can i return it in INDIA visa office and then get new copr there ?
And yeah am getting married in september itself so i have calculated the timing.

The only concern is the change in visa office as i will be in india.

Thanks legal falcon but regarding copr can i return it in INDIA visa office and then get new copr there ?
And yeah am getting married in september itself so i have calculated the timing.

The only concern is the change in visa office as i will be in india.

You can change your visa office anytime by sending an email to IRCC. They usually change the visa office with 2-3 weeks. You have two scenarios:

Scenario 1

Get the COPR and get the visa stamped in Canada, given that you get the PPR before you leave. Then travel to India, request to add a family member, fill in all the detail, submit the form, get a new COPR and visa stamped and travel to Canada and land as PR.

The only drawback is that you cannot add your spouse before getting married. After you marriage, you will need a marriage certificate, medicals and PCC. After you submit all these documents, IRCC many take anywhere from 1-3 months to process the application, as there has to be medicals, criminality, and security.

Scenario 2

Travel to India and before you travel request for the VO change. Follow the steps given above and get everything processed in India.

Which scenarios you chose will depend on how much time you have to stay in India, in case things are delayed and what will work best for you.

Heartiest congratulations on your marriage!
