Do u guys depend only the score you received in your profile? I am in the ECA stage , but i have used the CRS tool in CIC site to check how many points would I get.I will get 317 only..I feel something is wrong with the score?...My IELTS results are L:8.0 , R:6:0 , W:6.5 , S:6.5 , even if scored 9 in all I would still get 393 ?! but I am an IT Consultant NOC 2171 and 10 years experience in Dubai , age is 35 , Bachelor degree in Computer Science and married .Does it mean I should give up as I see the threshold is always 411 and above? or maybe I would be lucky if Ontario sent me NOI ?!

I am having tough luck since day 1. Missed 31 May draw due to delay in ielts result, then the change in the rule, then birthday and reduction of 5 points and then missing last draw by one point. I am at 439. I was expecting I'll get ita in this draw but draw didn't happen.

I can understand how you feel as I am too in the same boat as you. My points at the time of EE were 452 however I am turning 32 on 31st July therefore 5 points will be deducted, landing me at 447. Since draw did not happen this week and Ontario has paused the intake, score will go up, at-least that's what my consultant has told me. I am skeptical that this will happen because analysts say that cut-off will be around 434. if 434 is the score we both are going to get the ITA otherwise :(

Let me tell you a fact, you are going to get an ITA. Wether it is next week, the week after or whenever. How you spend that time is up to you. I will give you my example, I have always been late to the party and have always caught myself rushing in life trying to make it here and there, let it be. The seconds are going to tick at the same rate wether you feel you.re having a tough day or the best day, however the seconds will go faster or seem to if you must let it be, wake up, have your coffee go about your day and feel b,eased that you are able to do that whilst having a secure and solid score and future awaiting in Canada. Your attitude is what changes your luck from being tough to being easy. Relax cause there will be a time when you will miss these moments and your current situation...this is coming from a India who has lived half he's life in Africa and Miami and at this point planning on moving to India...with no expectations, no connections, no family (family is back in US and Africa)...but guess what, I'm looking forward to moving to India whilst you're feeling you have tough luck coz you're in India...it's all a matter of perspective, we live once ma man...wether India, Canada, USA, Africa, Europe doesn't matter, where thou heart is, thou home is...so live your moments not hoping for the draw to happen today or tomorrow but for whenever it does, IT DOES...

*Im in this forum not for myself, I have not applied but have helped a family member do it and hence in the forum.
I must appreciate your approach to life and I liked it so much that I have read it thrice. But sometimes I feel that when you are waiting {in my case – from 383 to 438} from over year and a half and you feel the golden light is just few moments away but you can not see it - that's where my patience is running very thin. But then I come back to this thread again and again and console my optimism that this is not the end of world. Their are people whom I don't even know but feel some spiritual connect with them as they fill my life with much needed positivity to carry on. Thanks so much to every single person on this thread.

First of all, to get a good score in crs from ielts you should take listening over 8 or above and the others 7 or above. did you calculate spouse factors? what does s/he add?

She only adds for the university degree 8 points as no IELTS for her.She has a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. Is there any hope for me to be selected from Ontario as I have read they started to send NOI for people under 400 who have specific NOCs ..Mine is one of them 2171 IT Consultant? but I am too way far from the 400.

I have almost the same credentials as urself (age, work exp., location, etc.) but with a high IELTS score and my CRS was 392. I got my spouse IELTS results and ECA and this took me to 402 and I received NOI. I believe this is the best option for you too.

Thanks a lot Mejaz for the reply. It seems I should set again for the IELTS test. But do u think with 317 someone would get a NOI from Ontario as they are concentrating on specific NOCs and mine is one of them 2171 IT Consultant?

I did not mean any disrespect either. I've even read blogs about IDP vs BC, claiming one is better over the other. Both, IDP and BC, are co-owners of IELTS and it should be safe to assume that they have similar benchmarks for evaluation. All I'm trying to say is that IDP and BC are professional bodies and they won't screw up for retakes.
i respectfully disagree both are pvt ltd company and like any other company their moto will be to make money as much as they can, and hence i have reasonable belief that they may tend to give less score for money anyways no need to argue on this since there is nothing we can do about, if you cant chase them join them thats the harsh reality

its possible....but not in the near future. They gave out NOIs to people below 400 in the last week of june. Never after that. But it is possible that by the time they open again, CRS scores have gone back down to 410-420 and they start sending out NOIs to below 400s. But its a long shot. For the time being u HAVE to do IELTS again to bump up ur scores. Also as I mentioned, spouse points can be the difference between below and above 400 for you.

I can understand how u feel, i am in the same boat.....my CRS is 439 too... missed 31 may, due to delay in 13,may ielts result... and now due to hiked CRS cut off.... I desperately wanted a draw this week.... now i get a feeling, that the score will increase again... and will have to wait for a longer time..
Now I see so many victims of May 13th exam. I am not the only one.

I took the 13th May exam with IDP. My result was supposed to come out on 26th may (I would have got the ITA on 31st may). My result finally came out on 15th June. Yes, I did feel terrible but I also know that there is a strong possibility to get ITA in the next few months. Hang in there !

:D where's @shaun75 and his pints?
Aww I missed all the fun.

Sorry I was away for the day @andieangel. To be honest I was still trying to get over the rejection from @Wandering Mind. I'm used to getting rejected by girls from my teenage years and got quiet good at it. Really mastered the rejection well, but this is a new low. At least back then the girls saw me first before rejecting me. :p

Back to drown my sorrows in my pints!
