I used Walgreens and I asked the store manager to stamp the back of the photo with his store stamp.

I sent them uncut, usually government offices have the correct cut-ter

I used Walgreens. @djm1414 recommended me to Walgreens. They have a predefined specifications for the Canada Passport (50 * 70).

Yes..Canada Passport and PR has the same spec. They did not stamp for me. I wrote it myself; Walgreens, address, and our details.
I would say, you better be next to them when they cut the photos. I am personally not satisfied on the cuts.
Carry the spec with you and ask them to double check.

Mine didn't cut the photo sheet. I did my own cuts very carefully with a paper trimmer.

CIC website says that the photographer needs to write or stamp on the backside. Is it acceptable if we write that information by ourselves?

Won't CIC come to know that these stores don't give any such thing in writing?

I honestly don't know, if have read in the forum that some people have written the information on the backside of the photo.
I wrote on the backside of the photo and submitted my documents today.

Mine April 24, and I got in 88 days (medicals 66 days). But for early April, it took 100+ days, and 75+ days just for medicals.

It will depend upon work load. US residents are treated as FSW Inland for processing, and FSW Inland has much higher average processing time that FSW outland. In April they started Inland only after most FSW Outland got PPRs.
