i contacted the embassy yesterday and they replied back today with the following

Your application is currently subject to statutory requirements, including background checks. These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted permanent resident status. We are currently conducting certain background investigations. As these are conducted by outside agencies, we are not in a position to determine when your application will be finalized.


We can appreciate that you anxiously awaiting news about your application. Please rest assured that we will be in contact with you as soon as possible.


Once your application is finalized, you will receive an email. If your application is approved, the email will give instructions on how to re-submit your passport for the issuance of the visa.

hello Guys,
i tried to contact ADVO immigration section on the mail ABDBIIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca discussing my situation that my status changed to " Decision Made " and i still didnt receive a letter indicating if it is approved or rejected !

they replied to me by :

We are pleased to inform you that your application is nearing finalization. Attached is a letter indicating the documents required to finalize your application. Please read the document carefully.


Please note that our photo specification and dimensions have changed. To minimize delay, please ensure that you are submitting correct photos. A link is included in your letter (page 2).


These documents/ information must be submitted within thirty (30) days from the date of this e-mail.

They attached a letter explaining how to submit my documents to their office

Do they send documents for your Perminant residence? Or no!

From old posts that I read I noticed it's between 20 to 30 days
In very few cases it may take longer

Hello Rbay , i sent my passport 2 days ago 11-July trough aramex , i am tracking my shipment and i think today they will be received by Immigration office ABU DHABI . i think the average is between 2 to 4 weeks to be returned back .

rbay for the applicants who applied before december 2017 , the processing times are 15 months, for the ones who applied after december 7, 2017 the processing times are 12 months. I know it doesn't make sense but this is how it is.
I am not sure if the email will save my life and let me get the DM / PPR.... I mean the maximum that can happen is that I will get no reply....

i do suggest to request for note (GCMS),, I did and found all things passed.. eligibility, criminality, medical,, then I sent mail to local visa office and Ottawa asking when to have the PPR since everything already passed.. no response received from them but then after 2 days , PPR sent... it is not for everybody but its my experience.. theres no harm in trying specially those who are waiting beyond specified timeframe..

i have some questions about some things after landing in canada, now when i receive my visa and passport i am planning to go for 20 days to canada and then return back to saudi arabia to finalize many things and then return back to canada after 6 months permenantly.

my question is :

- can i apply for PR card and then leave canada and when they email the PR card to the address in canada i will tell my relative to send it by DHL to saudi arabia to be able to return back to with my PR Card.

- after landing in this 20 days can i apply for health card and SIN card and do the drive test G1 before receiving my PR Card ?

It's a risk
What if your photos are rejected, they will not issue a PR card and you will have to apply for travel document to return back to Canada and that's a lengthy process.

- after landing in this 20 days can i apply for health card and SIN card and do the drive test G1 before receiving my PR Card ?

You can apply for sin card and they will issue it to you on the spot
You can apply for G1 drivers license and you can do the test right away if you studied the booklet
For the health card you should be planning to live here at least 6 months to apply.
You have plans to return back to Saudi Arabia after 20 days so don't apply, this is considered fraud and if they catch you will be in big trouble.
And you don't need it if you are going back to Saudi Arabia.
When you move back to Canada permanently apply for it.
