2022 PR application timeline

The marriage can cause some additional processing, but it does not automatically mean your application will be delayed for a long time. I think IRCC has to add/update your spouse's information and complete whatever checks are required for her before finalizing your file.
I’m honestly getting pretty frustrated with my PR application and could really use some advice.
I applied back in 2022, and it’s now been more than a year. The processing time is showing that I have about 3 months left, but I’m still worried about what happens if it takes even longer.
I know several people who came to Canada in 2023, and they’ve already received their PR. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting.
The problem is that I have a really good job in Quebec, and I genuinely don’t want to leave it. But I’ve been wondering: would it make sense to move to another province for the sake of my PR?
Could I officially change my address to a nearby province, keep my job in Quebec, and commute back and forth? I’m willing to deal with a long commute if that’s what it takes, but I obviously don’t want to do anything that could negatively affect my application or be considered misrepresentation.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Would changing provinces actually help, or would it be better to just stay in Quebec and wait?

Could you realistically commute to your job on a daily basis from another province? Even if you could there still may be concern because you haven’t cut ties to Quebec and that your plan is to settle outside of Quebec. Assume you don’t live in the greater Ottawa area. If that was the case settling in Ontario while working in Quebec would be a reasonable plan. If you declared you had moved to Ottawa and were commuting to Montreal most would likely move back to Montreal as soon as possible after receiving PR so wouldn’t actually be settling outside of Quebec.
You are nearing the end of processing so even if it took another year it may actually not result in a significantly faster processing. The cost of moving outside of Quebec and trying to prove that you have permanently moved out of Quebec may add a signicant amount of time to processing and there is also the cost and time required to move of Quebec and the eventually move back. Would you also be willing to commit to at least a year for commuting many hours a day? You should also be prepared to show that you have moved your whole life to another province but also should be able to show that you left your home in Quebec. If you are trying to keep your job in Quebec while showing you are permanently settling in another province, keeping your home in Quebec would show that you likely aren’t planning on resettling in another province. There are only a few limitations for protected people compared to PRs so how fast people are able to get PR would not have a significant impact on people’s lives or ability to live in Canada longterm. Processing times are already significantly faster than they were scheduled to be his a year ago due to the 1 time intiiative.

The key issue is not simply where your mailing address is. IRCC can look at your actual residence and your intention to reside, depending on the immigration program and circumstances. If you actually move to another province and genuinely live there, that is very different from claiming an address in another province while continuing to live in Quebec.
