does anyone know how much time it takes after final decision to get P1? I got the final decision on October 15th, no P1 yet. Thank you everyone for being helpful so far!!

They said that to me, I was surprised, told me to be patient. That it’s 3 years. That was what the agent said.
Please read explaination below the ircc pr tracker they clearly said that if you call ircc agent they will you tell you the same time which is in tracker so its useless to call them.they also said this processing will change by time and generally lesser then previous but it may be longer.they also explained its an estimated time which is based on number of application still in process right now.so in my openion there speed to process application is same as before pr tracker they just calculate time on the basis of inventory.the lesser the application the lesser the time

Immigration experts are sounding the alarm as fears grow that Canada could cancel the pending immigration applications amid record processing delays and backlogs

Not sure if it’s a good news for us or no

Its not like that i think you are talking about bill C12 it is more dangerous that you defined although its just a bill right now not a law but according to that bill government has a right to cancel suspend and pause any pr application or even pr card if it is for public best interest.and they do not define public interest right now

That’s a reasonable interpretation. When immigration experts raise alarms like that, they’re usually referring to temporary or pilot programs, economic streams, or older backlogged categories, not to established, active programs such as family sponsorship or protected person PR applications.

“Canceling pending applications” often means pausing or scrapping programs that are no longer aligned with new immigration targets, like what happened years ago with the old Federal Skilled Worker backlog. It doesn’t usually apply to ongoing permanent residence files that are already in process under valid, open streams.

In your case (protected person PR), it’s almost certainly not affected. Those are part of Canada’s humanitarian commitments, not discretionary programs that get cut or canceled.

Google it they also talk about refugee and protected person

I checked, and there’s no credible information confirming that IRCC plans to cancel pending applications for refugees or protected persons. The recent reports and expert comments about possible cancellations seem to focus on economic and pilot programs, not humanitarian streams.

IRCC does have serious backlogs across all categories, including refugee and protected-l person files, but that’s about delays, not cancellations. Humanitarian programs like the protected person PR pathway are part of Canada’s legal and international commitments, they’re not discretionary like some temporary or pilot streams that can be scrapped or paused.

Also, even when IRCC changes or phases out a program, it almost never affects existing applications that are already submitted and in process. Changes usually apply to future applicants, not to those already in the system.

So while processing is definitely slow, there’s no evidence that existing people even some other stream too.

And from future guys just add updates or questions, this is silly question and adding stir to haters we have many, and even I confronted some they deleted my reply post. Canuck has many accounts and he uses to time pass and has no life.
