Do I understand correctly that if I see this message (Background verification status has been updated to In progress), it means it's an enhanced/background check? Or does everyone receive such a message?

I have been stuck at background since last may 28th still in progress

Be patient bro, it's assume to take long time these days.
You're not the only one, people from other countries are still stuck in Comprehensive SS since 2022 or 2023.
