Hello,

Can someone please guide me? I have no Canadian emergency contact information which I can add to the application form for surrendering Indian passport online. Can I add details of my sister who is in India? Or may me my details again?

Anyone in similar boat as me?

They need one contact local... a work colleague, doctor's etc just mention it... hope you are not living under a cave away from the civilization ?

If I do the postal application, does the Purolator guy bring the outer envelope (I am guessing I have to print the labels myself)?

And the BLS/Edmonton website says to call at 7786524855, with payment card, for postal applications. Do they charge your card while on the call? Does it take care of all fees or do I need to get demand drafts as well?

Also, do I still need a demand draft for the application fee, or, can the application fee be paid on the call?

I am planning to book an appointment and submit in-person.

  1. Do I need to get demand drafts for in-person submission? Or can I pay all the required consular, BLS, etc. fees with a debit card?
  2. Is it possible to get photos taken there?
  3. Does the photo need to be uploaded online with the online form? If so, how? It's written in the booklet to upload the photo, that's why I'm confused.
  4. How to attest the photocopies? Is there a specific format, or just a signature and date? Any particular ink colour?
  5. Anything else I'm missing? Envelopes, etc.
I called them up and they said photos can be taken there. But the woman on the phone didn't seem confident about the other doubts.
Thank you.

Hi all, I became a Canadian Citizen in Dec 2024. I am going to apply surrender certificate this month. Will there be any issues?
I have not used an indian passport for any travel at all.

Thank you in advance.
