It took me over a month to gather all the documents and get our application prepared, so I would say you have time to get it sorted. You can try and submit without but they may return to you or request once it becomes in processHi peeps, I Hope you are all okay. My partner and I had our engagement ceremony on Sep 23rd, and we received our marriage certificate a few days ago.. there is an issue with it, the country of birth of my partner is different than it actually is, I called Service Ontario, and I have been told that it's gonna take a while, at least 5 weeks, to get the correct certificate. anyway, I wonder if should I start the sponsorship process or if I should wait for the certificate. and how I should start, what forms I should fill and will it be online or by mail?
Yes. I applied on May 31st, 2023, and received AOR after 3,5 months. Nothing else since then. So, while it's great to see some applications are proceeding at a high speed, others take waaaaaay longer.Hi All,
I applied for my spouse the outland application on July 31st, 2023. We are still waiting for the AOR. Getting a bit concerned as it already 3 months crossed.
do anyone have experienced similar delays ir timeline as ours?
should I ask for status on webform or call?
Any advice is appreciated,
Thanks
Are you sponsoring your spouse for PR that you are trying to get an OWP, do you have AOR yet? She can apply for US visa but being in Canada isn't going to be any different than applying from home country.Hello,
I have a couple of questions, would appreciate your suggestion or if there is any link that takes me to past conversations on this. would appreciate!
1- My spouse has arrived in Canada on a TRV, how can I apply for a work permit to change her status? The purpose of getting a work permit is also that she doesn't have to fly back after 6 months due to the high cost of air tickets, etc.
2- Would she be eligible to apply for a US visitor visa to meet her family while on TRV in Canada?

OWP is an open work permit which you can apply for since you have AOR already. It won't affect your app to apply for it.Thank you for your quick reply!
Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. Yes, I am sponsoring my wife on PR and her PR application has been in process since May 2023.
Yes, we have AOR and biometrics already done. Background checks and other requirements are in process.
Additonal question What is OWP and can it delay or have any implications on PR application?
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/spouse-partner-children.htmlHi everyone; I want to apply for inland spousal sponsorship, I am a Canadian Citizen, and my wife is an international student. Where should I start? I checked online and found a couple of files and forms to be filled and submitted online, but I couldn't figure out how to apply online, through the IRCC web. But I couldn't see anything related to that.
