Found out mom have cancer after application

Hello,
We are currently sponsoring my wife's parent and little sister.
Unfortunately, we found out my wife's mother have cancer a few months after submitting the application.
My wife's father is the applicant, and her mother and sister are the accompanying dependents.
We understand that there is a chance my wife's mother will be rejected, I was wondering if my wife's mother gets rejected would the other two people also be rejected with her.

It won't change the result. Everyone has to pass the medical for the application to be approved. This includes both accompanying and non-accompanying.

Would it improve my chance if I inform them that my mom have stage 4 cancer and can not travel anymore so I want to change her to non-accompanying dependent? Since she is not coming to canada my father and sister should not be rejected due to excessive strain in canadian health care system right?

This is not correct.

Again, this won't change the result. Even if the mom is non accompanying, she must still pass the medical. If she does not pass the medical then the dad and sister will be refused.

All family members need to pass the medical to be approved to prevent families from leaving a sick family member behind and also not to place undue pressure on the healthcare system.

If it helps you, one of my friends wife had the same issue. During application we found she had cancer, she underwent surgery and is recovering. Their family became PR. Canada did not even do a follow-up furtherance. Biggest difference is they were in-canada applicants. The guy had a heart issue and underwent surgery one and a half years back and wife was found to have cancer just before application.

Canada's goal is to limit burden on medical system... It seems conditions like kidney issues and heart issues are more troublesome because they have very predictable degradiation and demand. Cancer is a very different beast.

Cancer treatment is usually quite expensive unless there is a surgical option that will result in being cancer free while not needing to even have chemo or radiation before usually to shrunk the mass.
